Abstract

帯状の芯材(1)をその長手方向に走行させつつその両面に電極合剤ペースト(5)を塗布し、電極合剤ペースト(5)が塗布された芯材(1)を一対の掻き落し治具(16a、16b)間の隙間に通して電極合剤ペースト(5)の塗布厚を調整し、かつ掻き落し治具(16a、16b)に設けたチップ(18)にて電極合剤ペースト(5)を掻き落して所要幅の合剤塗布部を形成するとともに、チップ(18)の芯材走行方向上手側に形成した凹溝(19)を通してチップ(18)で掻き落とした電極合剤ペースト(5)を還流させ、合剤塗布部の両側端部での塗布厚の増大化現象の発生を抑制するようにしたことにより、合剤塗布部の両側端部での塗布厚の増大化現象の発生を抑制し、合剤塗布シートの変形などの工程不良の発生を回避できる電極合剤ペーストの塗布方法を実現する。

Claims

11 補正書の請求の範囲 [2006年 10月 16日 (16. 10. 2006) 国際事務局受理]
1. (捕 E後) 状の芯材 (1) をその長手方向に走行させつつその両面に電極合剤ペースト (5) を'塗布する '塗省工程と、
籠合剤ペーストが塗布された芯才を一対の搔き落し治具 (16 a, 16 b) 間の隙間に通して ®f 合剤ペーストの '»厚を香雇し、 力っ搔き落し治具に設けたチップ (18) にて 合剤べ一 ストを搔き落して所要幅の合剤塗布部 (10) を形成するとともに、 チップの^才走行方向上^ f則 に形成した凹溝 (19) を通してチップで搔き落とした ¾S合剤ペーストを懲巟させる塗布厚.塗 布幅 程とを備えた!^合剤ペーストの塗布 去であって、

2. 搔き落し治具 (16 a, 16 b) は芯才 (1) の両側部を含めて少なくとも 3個のチップ (18) を具備し、合剤 部 (10) を芯tt畐方向に複类嫩嫩る請求項 1記載の S*合剤べ ーストの塗布施。

12 条約第 19条 (1) に基づく説明書 請求の範囲第 1項及び第 4項は、チップの幅 Wと、 チップの側端からの凹溝の側端 の突出量 Pとの関係に臨界的意義が存在し、合剤塗布部の全幅にわたって塗布厚を均 一にするために、 p=—0. lw〜0. 5 wとすることを明確にした。 引用例 3は本願と同じ課題に基づいてなされた発明であるが、 p=—0. lw〜0. 5 wとすることは、 開示も示唆もしていない。

p=-0. 1 w¾t p = 0. 5 wという値に臨界的意義が存在する(わずか 0. 1 w違うと効果が激減する)ため、 上記の限定は単なる設計事項ではない。
