  • Laminated glass panes have a base layer which serves to increase the residual load-bearing capacity and extends over the entire surface of the laminated glass pane.
  • PVB films or cast resin layers adjoining these are provided between two glass panes, and a fiber mat is provided between them.
  • This fiber mat serves as a base layer and represents a reinforcement that guarantees a certain residual load-bearing capacity in the event of a glass break.
  • Residual load capacity means a load capacity of the laminated glass pane that remains after a glass break. This is intended, for example, to prevent overhead glazing from falling in the event of glass breakage or from dropping bodies through glazing. A particular danger arises if a broken laminated glass pane slips off its supports as a result of severe deflection, which can also happen if the glass pane is clamped carefully. This applies both to laminated glass panes mounted on the edge of the glass and to laminated glass panes with point bearings, in which clamping plate holders protrude through bores in the laminated glass pane and thus fix the laminated glass pane to a supporting structure.
  • a laminated glass pane is known from EP 0 525 690 A2, in which a base layer is incorporated in the intermediate layer, which base layer is formed by holding elements which are inherently rigid, tensile and shear-resistant. These holding elements are attached directly to supports with their parts protruding from the laminated glass pane, for example riveted or screwed to the supports, the holding elements being bent toward the supports according to the thickness of the laminated glass pane or shoulders being provided on the supports, so that the holding elements on the Shoulders of the carrier lie snugly, the holding elements of mutually adjacent laminated glass panes coming to lie one above the other.
