- the invention relates to a glow plug for a fuel engine, consisting of a candle housing, a connection device for the glow current connected to the candle housing, a glow tube coupled to the connection device, which is closed on its side facing away from the candle housing, one in the glow tube with one the connecting device coupled connecting bolts provided wire-helical resistance element, the resistance element consists of a heating coil and a control coil.
- Glow plugs for diesel engines are known from the prior art, which are operated at on-board voltages of approximately 11 V during preheating and approximately 14 V with the engine running. These glow plugs are controlled by a glow time control device without voltage-reducing measures. This means the glow plugs are intrinsically safe and regulate the current during the heating process in such a way that no critical temperatures are exceeded.

- a further advantage is seen in that the effective voltage can be controlled by a glow time control device by lowering the nominal voltage in such a way that there is no drop in temperature of the glow plug during the voltage dip when the fuel engine starts.
- the effect of this is that the diesel fuel engine starts much faster and more safely.
- the fuel engine starts up to idle speed more safely and quickly.
- the temperature of the glow plug can be kept at the appropriate level by setting the clock accordingly via the glow time control device. This makes the idle of the cold fuel jet engine quieter and reduces pollutant emissions. By specifically switching on in overrun mode, pollutant emissions can be reduced when accelerating again.
- the glow plug reacts very quickly to an increase in voltage even in the hot and hot state. This enables the temperature of the glow plug to be adapted very quickly and quickly to the requirements of the diesel fuel engine.
