Definitions
- the invention relates to a ceiling lamp with an elongated lamp housing, consisting of a trough-shaped upper part, which is provided with sockets for receiving at least one fluorescent tube, with holders for the associated electrical ballasts and cables and with fastening elements for anchoring the upper part in the ceiling, and a light-permeable lower part pivotably mounted on a longitudinal edge of the upper part with releasable locking elements for connection to the upper part.
- Ceiling lights of this type are generally known and are used in particular for illuminating offices, workrooms, warehouses and other workrooms. It is important with these ceiling lights that they are easy to handle and easy to assemble. However, it is also important that the lower part for replacing fluorescent tubes is easy to open and close again. Since the ceiling lights are required in large numbers depending on the size of the room, it should also be aimed at because of the purchase costs that these lights are as cheap to manufacture as possible.
- a ceiling lamp of the type mentioned which consists of a closed two-part housing. Both housing parts are made of plastic, with the lower part, the so-called cover, being releasably attached to the upper part, the so-called housing base part, by means of fastening elements.
- quick-release fasteners are provided as fastening elements, which are arranged opposite one another on the broad sides of the housing in its end region.
- the quick-release fasteners are preferably formed by C-shaped clasps, which are held in the lower channel by a pin-shaped clasp base part and whose upper claw-shaped closing ends overlap the bottom of the upper channel with a clamping effect.
- Closure elements the assembly of the ceiling light is very complicated and labor intensive. The fitter is also challenged when replacing defective fluorescent tubes and will hardly be able to do this work without outside help. Particularly disadvantageous here is the fact that he has to temporarily store the cover after loosening the closure parts so that he has both hands free for the replacement process. There is no question that this ceiling light is not only expensive to manufacture and assemble, but also always requires a henchman to replace the fluorescent tubes.
- the object of the invention is to provide a ceiling lamp of the aforementioned type, in which these disadvantages are eliminated.
- This object is achieved in the ceiling lamp according to the present invention described in the introduction in that the upper part and the lower part are injection-molded in one piece from plastic and in that the lower part and the upper part are each pivotally connected to one another by means of a so-called film hinge.
- the lower part can be designed in a simple manner in a further embodiment of the invention in such a way that it consists of a frame with connecting ribs running across the entire length and having a V-shaped profile cross section.
- FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a lamp housing according to the invention with the lower part opened with a view from above
- FIG. 2 shows a cross section through the luminaire housing with the lower part opened before installation in the ceiling plate
- Fig. 3 shows the same cross section through the lamp housing in the built-in
- Fig. 4 is an enlarged section of the cross section through the housing wall according to line IV-IV in Fig. 1 and
- FIG 5 shows an enlarged section “A” of the cross section through the housing wall in the region of the latching elements.
- the ceiling lamp shown in the figures consists essentially of an elongated, trough-shaped upper part 1 and a light-permeable lower part 2. Both parts are injection-molded in one piece from plastic and pivotally connected to one another at one longitudinal edge by means of a so-called film hinge 3.
- the upper part 1 is provided on the inside of both end walls 4 with sockets 5 for receiving at least one fluorescent tube 6.
- Brackets 8 and terminals 9 for the associated ballasts and cable lines, which are usually required for operating fluorescent tubes 6, are also integrated in the ceiling 7 of the upper part 1.
- the lower part 2 comprises a frame 10 with connecting ribs 11 running transversely over the entire length and having a V-shaped profile cross section.
- latching elements 12 are formed on the frame 10 on the side opposite the film hinge 3 when pivoting the lower part 2 into the upper part 1 in the direction of arrow “E”, engage in correspondingly large cutouts 14 in the longitudinal wall 13 (FIGS. 3 and 5).
- latching hooks 15 projecting beyond the outer surface are provided on both sides, which, as can be seen in FIG. 4, are integrally molded on the longitudinal walls 13 via spring bars 18 in an elastically compressible manner.
- These latching hooks 15 are dimensioned such that when the luminaire housing is inserted into a recess 16 in the ceiling panel 17 which is adapted to the upper part 1, in the direction of the arrow “M” (FIG. 2), they dodge behind the outer surface and 19 engage the recess 16.
- a connector 20 and a connector socket 21 are integrated on the outer sides. This makes it possible to electrically connect a plurality of luminaire housings with correspondingly integrated plugs 20 and sockets 21 and thereby extend the overall length of the ceiling luminaire as desired.
- the ceiling 7 of the upper part 1 can advantageously be formed on its underside by corresponding curvatures as a reflector 22, on which a well reflecting metal layer is applied for this purpose, so that the light rays of the fluorescent tube - as in a metal housing - are guided fully downwards.
