Abstract
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft die Verwendung von cyclischen Dicarbonsäuren in Elektrolyt-Flüssigkeiten, insbesondere für Kondensatoren, die bei mittleren und hohen Drücken betreiben werden, sowie die Elektrolyte und Elektrolytkondensatoren enthaltend diese.
Description
Neue Elektrolyte für Elektrolytkondensatoren und deren Verwendung
Beschreibung
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft neue Elektrolyte und deren Verwendung in
Elektrolytkondensatoren, insbesondere für mittlere und hohe Drücke, sowie Elektrolytkondensatoren enthaltend des erfindungsgemäßen Elektrolyt.
Elektrolytkondensatoren besitzen einen Aufbau, bei dem üblicherweise eine Anode aus Aluminium oder Tantal mit einer isolierenden Oxydschicht als dielektrische
Schicht verwendet wird, eine Kathode gegenüber dieser Anode angeordnet ist, zwischen der Anode und der Kathode ein Separator ausgeführt ist, und dieser Separator den Elektrolyt des Elektrolytkondensators enthält.
Der Elektrolyt befindet sich demzufolge zwischen der dielektrischen Schicht und der
Kathode des Elektrolytkondensators. Der Widerstandsanteil des Elektrolyts ist in den Elektrolytkondensator seriell eingeführt.
Die Eigenschaften des Kondensators hängen wesentlich von denen des Elektrolyts ab. Zur Verbesserung der Durchschlagsspannung wurden dem Elektrolyten Zusätze wie beispielsweise Sulfonaminsäure (Sho49-82963), Suberinsäure (Sho49-133860), Dodecylphosphat (Sho49-73659) oder C2-C5-Alkylphosphat (Sho52-153154) zugegeben.
Die Verwendung von chemischen Verbindungen, die bestimmte Anionen anorganischer Säuren oder Anionen von Alkylestersäuren erzeugen, wie Hypophosphorsäuren oder deren Salze (Sho57-141913); die Verwendung von Verbindungen organischer Wassergelatinierungsstoffe zur Verbesserung der Duchschlagspannung der Borsäure, wie bei Verwendung von Borsäure-Mannit- Verbindungen (Sho57-60829) oder Borsäure-Mannit-Polyvinylalkohol-Verbindungen
(Sho59177915); oder die Beigabe von modifizierten Silikonölen (Hei -1 75722) ist ebenfalls bekannt.
Bei herkömmlichen Elektrolytkondensatoren, insbesondere für rnittlere und hohe
Drücke, werden zur Erzielung einer vergleichsweise hohen Durchschlagsspannüng Elektrolyte verwendet, bei denen in einem aus Ethylenglykol bestehenden Lösungsmittel Borsäure oder Borsäureammoniumsalz als zu lösender Stoff gelöst wird. Bei derartigen Elektrolyten gab es aber das Problem, daß, aufgrund des direkt aus Borsäure entstehenden Kristallisationswassers und des durch Veresterung von
Ethylenglykol und Borsäure entstehenden Kondensationswassers, viel Flüssigkeit entsteht. Bei Verwendung in Elektrolytkondensatoren, bei denen die Temperatur 100°C übersteigt, verwandelt sich die Flüssigkeit im Elektrolyt in Dampf und verdampft, wodurch der Innendruck ansteigt und die Gefahr besteht, daß das Gehäuse des Elektrolytkondensators zerstört werden kann.
Zur Vermeidung dieses Problems wurden bislang Zusätze wie Butyloctandioxyd, (Sho60-13293), Butyloctandioxyd oder 6-Decalindikarbonsäure (Patentschrift Sho 63-15738) verwendet.
Ferner ist bekannt, daß bei Elektrolyten bei denen zweiwertige Säuren oder deren Salze verwendet werden, die Veresterung äußerst langsam verläuft, wodurch der Anstieg des besagten Innendrucks durch Wasserdampf o.a. bei hohen Temperaturen beschränkt oder gar vermieden werden kann und eine verbesserte Schichtbildungseigenschaft beobachtet wurde (Hei2-224217).
Die vorstehend genannten Elektrolyte zeigen bereits ein erheblich verbessertes Eigenschaftsprofil, jedoch sind die bislang eingesetzten zweiwertigen Säuren oder deren Salze relativ teuer. Es bestand daher die Aufgabe, alternative Zusätze für Elektrolyte zu finden, die einerseits das vorstehend genannte Eigenschaftsprofil aufweisen und andererseits billiger herzustellen sind.
Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist daher die Verwendung von cyclischen Dicarbonsauren in Elektrolyt-Flüssigkeiten, insbesondere für Elektrolyte in Kondensatoren.
Bei den erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagenen cyclischen Dicarbonsauren handelt es sich um Verbindungen die mindestens eine cyclische Struktur enthalten, bei denen die Carboxyl-Gruppen am cyclischen Strukturelement angeordnet sind. Neben den
monocyclischen Systemen sind gleichermaßen auch di-, tri- oder poly-cyclische Ringsysteme geeignet.
Beispiele für derartige monocyciische Systeme sind Verbindungen der Formel (I)

B, D gleich oder verschieden sind und für eine bivalente Gruppe -(CR10R11)n- stehen, bei der die Reste R10, R11 gleich oder verschieden Wasserstoff, eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls verzweigt ist, eine Arylgruppe mit 5 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls substituiert ist und bei der ein oder mehrere Kohlenstoffatome durch Stickstoff, Schwefel und/oder Sauerstoff ersetzt sein können, oder eine Alkoxygruppe mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten, und n eine ganze Zahl 0, 1 , 2, 3 oder 4 bedeutet, mit der Maßgabe das die Summe aller Indices n ungleich der Zahl null ist, A gleich oder verschieden sind und für eine bivalente Gruppe -(CR12R1 umstehen, bei der die Reste R12, R13 gleich oder verschieden für Wasserstoff, eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls verzweigt ist, eine Arylgruppe mit 5 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls substituiert ist und bei der ein oder mehrere Kohlenstoffatome durch Stickstoff, Schwefel und/oder Sauerstoff ersetzt sein können, oder eine Alkoxygruppe mit 1 bis 12
Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten, und m eine ganze Zahl 0, 1 , 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 oder 10 bedeutet, R gleich oder verschieden Wasserstoff, eine Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 12
Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls verzweigt ist, eine Arylgruppe mit 5 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls substituiert ist und bei der ein oder mehrere Kohlenstoffatome durch Stickstoff, Schwefel und/oder Sauerstoff ersetzt sein können, oder eine Alkoxygruppe mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten,
M für Wasserstoff oder Metallionen wie Na, K, Li oder Ammoniumionen wie NH4, und organische Ammoniumkationen steht.
Bevorzugt handelt es sich bei den Verbindungen der Formel (I) um Verbindungen . der Formel (l)a
oder um Verbindungen der Formel (l)b
bei denen die Reste M, A, R und x die vorstehende Bedeutung haben.
Insbesondere bevorzugt als Verbindung der Formel (I) sind Camphersäure und Cyclooctadiendicarbonsäure sowie deren Salze und Derivate.
Beispiele für derartige polycyclische Systeme sind Verbindungen der Formel (II)

Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls verzweigt ist, eine Arylgruppe mit 5 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls substituiert ist und bei der ein oder mehrere Kohlenstoffatome durch Stickstoff, Schwefel und/oder Sauerstoff ersetzt sein können, oder eine Alkoxygruppe mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen bedeuten,
M für Wasserstoff oder Metallioneri wie Na, K, Li oder Ammoniumionen wie NH4, und organische Ammoniumkationen steht.
Die erfindungsgemäß vorgeschlagenen Systeme sind aufgrund der guten und breiten Verfügbarkeit der Ausgangsstoffe kostengünstig verfügbar.
Weiter Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Elektrolyt enthaltend a) mindestens eine Verbindung ausgewählt aus der Gruppe der Formeln (I), (II) und/oder (III) b) mindestens ein Lösungsmittel.
Das Lösungsmittel, das für den Elektrolyt gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung verwendet wird, muß lediglich ein organisches Lösungsmittel sein und unterliegt nur durch seiner Verwendung einer Beschränkung, die dem Fachmann jedoch bekannt ist. Vorzugsweise werden als Lösungsmittel, die herkömmlicherweise in Elektrolytkondensatoren eingesetzten verwendet.
Geeignete Lösungsmittel sind insbesondere protische oder aprotische Lösungsmittel wie einwertige Alkohole, beispielsweise Ethanol, Propanol, Butanol, Pentanol, Hexanol, Cyclobutanol, Cyclopentanol, Cyclohexanol oder Benzylalkohol; mehrwertige Alkohole, beispielsweise Etylenglykol, Propylenglykol, Glycerin, Methoxyethanol, Ethoxyethanol, Methoxypropylenglykol oder Dimethoxypropanol, Alkyloxyalkohol, Amidlösungsmittel, beispielsweise N-Methylformamid, N,N-
Dimethylformamid, N-Ethylformamid, N,N-Diethylformamid, N-Methylacetamid, N,N- Dimethylacetamid, N-Ethylacetamid, N,N-Diethylacetamid, Hexamethylphosphorigsäureamid; Lacton- oder zyklische Amidlösungsmittel, beispielsweise γ-Butyrolacton, N-Methyl-2-Pyrrolidon, Ethylencarbonat, Propylen- Carbonat, Isobutylencarbonat; Nitrillösungsmittel beispielsweise Acetonitril; sowie
Oxydlösungsmittel, beispielsweise Dimethylsulfoxyd.
Darüber hinaus kann der Elektrolyt noch weitere rje nach Bedarf verschiedene Additive enthalten, wie sie im Stand der Technik bekannt sind.
Beispiele für derartige Zusätze zum Elektrolyten sind unter anderem Copolymere auf Basis von Polyethyienglykol und/oder Polypropylenglykol sowie Polyglycerin.
Weiterer Gegenstand der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Elektrolytkondensator enthaltend a) eine Anode, b) eine Kathode die gegenüber der Anode angeordnet ist, c) einen Separator der zwischen der Anode und der Kathode angeordnet ist und den Elektrolyt des Elektrolytkondensators enthält, und der Elektrolyt mindestens eine Verbindung ausgewählt aus der Gruppe der Formeln (I), (II) und/oder (III) und mindestens ein Lösungsmittel enthält.
Claims
1. Verwendung von cyclischen Dicarbonsauren in Elektrolyt-Flüssigkeiten, insbesondere für Kondensatoren.
2. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 1 , dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als cyclische Dicarbonsäure eine oder mehrere mono-, di-, tri oder poly-cyclische Dicarbonsäure eingesetzt wird.
3. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als monocyciische Dicarbonsäure eine Verbindungen der Formel (I)

B, D gleich oder verschieden sind und für eine bivalente Gruppe -(CR10R11)n- stehen, bei der die Reste R10, R11 gleich oder verschieden Wasserstoff, eine
Alkylgruppe mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls verzweigt ist, eine Arylgruppe mit 5 bis 12 Kohlenstoffatomen, die gegebenenfalls substituiert ist und bei der ein oder mehrere Kohlenstoffatome durch Stickstoff, Schwefel und/oder Sauerstoff ersetzt sein können, oder eine Alkoxygruppe mit 1 bis 12 Kohlenstoff atomen bedeuten, n eine ganze Zahl 0, 1 , 2, 3 oder 4 bedeutet,, mit der Maßgabe das die Summe aller Indices n ungleich der Zahl null ist,

4. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als monocyciische Dicarbonsäure eine Verbindung der Forme! (I)a
oder eine Verbindung der Formel (l)b
bei denen die Reste M, A, R und x die vorstehende Bedeutung haben, eingesetzt wird.
5. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als monocyciische Dicarbonsäure Camphersäure und/oder Cyclooctadiendicarbonsäure sowie deren Salze und Derivate eingesetzt werden.
6. Verwendung gemäß Anspruch 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß als polycyclische Dicarbonsäure eine Verbindung der Formel (II)
oder der Formel (III)

8. Elektrolytkondensator enthaltend a) eine Anode, b) eine Kathode die gegenüber der Anode angeordnet ist, c) einen Separator der zwischen der Anode und der Kathode angeordnet ist und den Elektrolyten gemäß Anspruch 7 enthält.
