- the guide tube 13 is cushioned towards the rear via the return spring 27 relative to the housing 11. In the striking position, however, the return spring 27 is compressed to such an extent that the damping element 30, which is separate from the return spring 27, is supported directly on the bearing ring 28 on the housing side. In this way, the setbacks of the striker 18 transmitted to the guide tube 13 are absorbed by the housing 11, bypassing the return spring 27, and effectively damped by the damping element 30.
- the embodiment of Figure 2 differs from the embodiment of Figure 1 only in that a plate spring assembly 36 is used instead of a damping element 30. All other parts, as in the following third exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 3, are identified by the same reference numerals. Due to the plate spring assembly 36, a greater deflection of the guide tube 13 compared to the damping element 30 from FIG. 1 can be achieved after a kickback by the striker 18, whereby a different damping than the damping element 30 can be achieved.
- a coil spring 37 is arranged as a spring or damping member between the guide tube 13 and the housing 11. With the help of the coil spring 37, a different spring characteristic can be achieved than with disc springs. In this case too, a return damping independent of the return spring 27 is ensured in the striking position.
- a damping element 30 with a plate spring assembly 36 or a coil spring 37 or other damping or spring members, this being possible both in parallel and in series connection.
- the hammer drill 10 can also be designed as a pure percussion hammer without rotating the guide tube 13.
- the damping or spring element 30, 36, 37 that is additional to the return spring 27 can also be implemented by the return spring itself, provided that it has a non-linear spring or damping characteristic.
