Definitions
- the invention relates to a pin tumbler in a rotary lock cylinder for a security lock, with a housing pin and a core pin and a compression spring mounted in the housing of the rotary lock cylinder, against the force of which the tumbler for releasing the rotation of the cylinder core with a key to be inserted into the key channel is classified by a radial displacement is.
- Tumblers of this type have long been known in numerous designs in high-quality rotary lock cylinders.
- Such a tumbler in a rotary lock cylinder is known, for example, from the applicant's EP-A-0 646 689. These tumblers are raised and arranged to release the cylinder core with a key to be inserted into the key channel, the abutting surfaces of the housing stit and the core pin lying on the shear line of the rotary lock cylinder.
- the housing pin is also called counter bolt.
- Tumblers can block positively or negatively. If the lock is negative, the housing pin locks by engaging in the bore of the cylinder core. If the lock is positive, however, the core pin engages in the bore of the housing and thus locks the rotary lock cylinder. Such an intervention takes place in each case with one or more increments. In order to increase the combinatorics and thus the number of locking variants hen, very small increments are used, the smallest permissible increments being in the range of 0.35 to 0.5 mm.
- the invention has for its object to provide a guard locking of the type mentioned, which avoids the disadvantages mentioned det and which offers a high level of safety even with a step jump of less than 1 mm and negative locking.
- the object is achieved in the case of a generic pin tumbler in that the housing pin is cut out on its circumference immediately behind its end face lying against the core pin, in such a way that an edge is formed with an acute-angled cross section.
- the invention has the effect that with a small step change and negative locking, the housing pin tilts when the force is applied to the housing bore and the edge digs into the cylinder core. By digging in, the housing pin cannot be lifted out of the hole. Experiments have shown that the housing pin cannot be pushed away even if the key is turned at about 12 N until it breaks. The greater the torque, the more the housing pin digs into the cylinder core on its inner edge. In a rotary lock cylinder with tumblers according to the invention, negative locks with a step change significantly smaller than 1 mm are therefore possible and resist an unauthorized attempt to unlock the lock.
- FIG. 1 shows a section through part of a rotary locking cylinder with a tumbler according to the invention
- FIG. 2 shows schematically the position of the tumbler according to the invention, FIG. 1, exertion of a torque on the cylinder core,
- FIG. 3 shows a housing pin in a greatly enlarged illustration
- Figures 4 and 5 in view or in section an embodiment of a housing pin of the tumbler according to the invention
- Figure 6 shows another embodiment of a housing pin.
- FIG. 1 shows a rotary lock cylinder 4 known per se with a cylinder core 2, also called rotor and a housing 3, also called statoi.
- a tumbler 4 is mounted in radial bores 8 and 9 of the cylinder core 2 and the housing 3, respectively, which has a core pin 6 and a housing pin 5.
- the core pin 6 engages with its tip 6a in a key channel 15 and is in contact with further core pins 6 1 and 6 ' 1 .
- the core pins 6 'and 6''belong to tumblers which can be constructed in the same way as the tumbler 4, but are mounted transversely to the latter in the locking cylinder 4.
- the tumbler 4 and the other tumblers not shown here are classified by inserting the shaft of a key (not shown here) into the channel 6.
- the tumblers 4 are raised radially outward in the direction of line 15 against the retroactive force of a compression spring 7 until the cambered surface 12 of the core pins 6 has reached the shear line 10 between the housing 3 and the cylinder core 2.
- the core pin 6 and the housing pin 5 add up in length.
- the housing pins 5 are thus of different lengths, the shortest housing pin 5 having a length of approximately 0.65 mm. Such a housing pin 5 never locks negatively.
- the housing pin 5 blocks negatively, that is, it engages the bore 8 of the cylinder core 2 with the length of a step S of, for example, 0.5 mm.
- the end face 11 of the housing pin 5 is pressed against the end face 12 of the core pin 6 by the pressure of the spring 7.
- the housing pin 5 is provided with a recess 13 directly behind its end face, which extends around the entire circumference of the housing pin 5.
- the result of this recess 13 is that the housing pin 15 has a comparatively sharp front edge 16. Behind this edge 16, the diameter decreases continuously along a conical surface 14 up to an inclined shoulder 17.
- the angle ⁇ between the surface 14 and the shoulder 17 is approximately 105 °.
- the angle between the end face 11 and the conical surface 14 is less than 90 ° and preferably greater than 60 °.
- the preferred angle ⁇ is between 85 ° and 65 ° and is preferably approximately 75 °.
- the diameter A of the housing pin 5 is slightly smaller than the diameter of the bore 9 and is, for example, 2.97 mm.
- the length B of the housing pin is different, but is at least about 0.65 mm.
- the distance C between the end face 11 and the shoulder 17 is somewhat larger than a step S and is about 0.75 mm here. As can be seen, the recess 13 is not very deep and in no way weakens the housing pin 5.
- the housing pin 5 tilts as shown in FIG. 2 and the comparatively sharp edge 16 digs into the cylinder core 2 at the point denoted by P. If the torque is increased, the housing pin 5 is not lifted out of the bore 8, but digs further with increasing force into the cylinder core 2 made of comparatively soft material and cannot therefore be pressed radially outwards. By tilting the housing pin 5, the distance of the edge 16 starting from the bore 8 to the shear line 10 is increased. The distance between the shear line 10 and the point P is thus much greater than the step change S. Due to the correspondingly large material thickness, it becomes difficult to push away the material of the cylinder core 2 lying above the point P and thus to release the block. This is also not possible with a force of about 12 N, at which a key usually breaks.
- the housing pin consists of hard material, in particular hardened steel and is not significantly weakened at its inner end by the recess 13.
- the recess 13 can also be designed differently and the surface 14 does not necessarily have to be conical. It is essential, however, that the edge 16 is comparatively sharp and, as explained above, can dig into the cylinder core and is thus fixed in the bore 8.
- the recess 13 can be produced inexpensively by turning or grooving.
- the housing pin 5 has a cylindrical wall 19, with which the housing pin 5 is guided so as to be radially displaceable in the bore 9 of the housing 3. It is not necessary that all tumblers of a rotary locking cylinder are designed as explained above. However, all housing pins 5 which engage in the cylinder core and block negatively are preferably provided with a recess 13. The shorter housing pins 5 with a length of about 0.65 mm can be designed as usual.
- FIGS 4 and 5 show a housing pin 20 according to a variant, which is provided with the above-mentioned recess 13.
- the housing pin 20 consists of a hardened body 23 into which a softer part 24 is inserted, which, as can be seen, has an outstanding conical extension 24a.
- the compression spring 7 can be attached to this extension 24a in a simple manner by pressing the conical end 24a together like a rivet after the compression spring 7 has been put on.
- the compression spring 7 and the housing pin 20 then form a unit, which considerably simplifies assembly.
- FIG. 6 shows a further embodiment of a housing pin 25. This is in turn provided with a recess 13.
- the compression spring 7 is fastened to the housing pin 15 here by means of a groove 17 into which end windings 28 of the compression spring 7 are clipped.
- the compression spring 7 is double-conical, so that it essentially relates to the wire diameter. can be squeezed.
- the compression spring with the housing pin 25 can thus be accommodated in a comparatively short bore 9 in the housing 3.
