Definitions
- the present invention relates to a refrigerated display and / or storage cabinet for perishable products, food or the like, for example in a store.
- a dismountable refrigerated cabinet which includes means for guiding and circulating fresh air and means for distributing fresh air to product display plans or shelves and which includes cladding panels made of a material such as cardboard, which cladding is part of a superstructure removably mounted on a base which comprises means for cooling the air and for dynamic circulation of the air, that is to say in particular a heat exchanger and a fan at least.
- the object of the present invention is to improve the refrigerated furniture described in the above-mentioned international application.
- the solution to the problem posed consists in providing an exposure module for perishable products which comprises at least one air guide duct, and at least one module handling member.
- - Said handling member is disposed or fixed in (or constituted by) a rigidified zone or part of the module, in the lower part thereof;
- - Said handling member comprises or is essentially constituted by a rigid pallet or loading support such as a tray, which comprises at least one air guide duct or the section is elongated, preferably substantially rectangular, with an axis longitudinal. vertical and able to be connected to the module duct (s);
- - said pallet or rigid loading support consists essentially of cardboard, wood or plastic (or an assembly of elements made of these materials);

- the air is then sucked in (arrow 1 19), in the lower part of the exposure module, through the space or opening delimited by the front edge of the first board 46 and the upper edge 57 of the skirt 7 which surrounds group 2; said edge 57 extends above the upper face 151 of the pallet 4 when the latter is placed by its base 150 on the upper panel 36 of the module 2 (after the downward movement according to the arrows 19), because the height 120 measured between the upper edge 57 (substantially horizontal) of the front flank of the skirt 7 surrounding the refrigeration unit 2, and the upper wall 36 of the product display module 3 (on which the pallet rests), is greater than the height 121 (or thickness) of the pallet 4; the height of the conduit 53 delimited by the walls or vertical boards 48 and 49 of the pallet 4.
- the air flow or curtain 123 moving in a downward vertical movement can be partly at least taken up (sucked) by the return orifice left free between the edge 57 of the front wall of the skirt 7 and the front edge of the board 46 of the pallet 4, to circulate according to the arrows 1 19 and 44 until the return opening 37 provided in the module 2.
- the module 3 is delimited by vertical side walls 26, 27, 28, the base of which can be fixed (by an assembly movement illustrated by the arrows 24) by staples 35 to the battens 30, 31, and which constitute an envelope
- FIG. 10 illustrates an alternative embodiment of the invention adaptable to the use of plastic for the production of the main components of the display module of the refrigerated cabinet according to the invention.
- the piece of furniture the main components of which have been schematically represented (in exploded view), comprises a group or module 2 of air cooling which receives on its upper face a pallet 4 acting as an interface between the module 2 and module 3 for product exposure as well as a supporting role for module 3.
- Pallet 4 has an opening 129 in the front part allowing suction
- each of said sections of conduit 54 is constituted by a portion of tube with a vertical axis and of substantially rectangular and non-constant section, the section of the upper part of each conduit being reduced or narrowed so as to allow a substantially tight fitting and connection air modules 54 when stacked on top of each other along their common longitudinal axis 101 extending vertically.
- each of said plates is provided with a rear vertical bottom 61 provided with perforations 63. which is substantially pressed against the front face of the modules 54 so that the perforations 63 of the plates extend substantially opposite perforations 157 provided in the front faces of the sections 54, and so as to allow the passage (distribution) of part of the air circulating in the sections 54 to each tray to maintain the products contained by the trays 58 at the desired temperature.
- Each tray 58 has a horizontal bottom 59, two side walls 60 each provided with an oblong opening 62 allowing the manipulation by hand of each of the trays 58, the panels 59 and 60 being provided with edges folded at 90 ° and forming thus with the bottom 61 a semi rigid assembly which can be made of corrugated cardboard or plastic.
- the conduits 54 and the plates 58 are covered with a roof panel 64 ensuring the guiding of the air leaving the conduits 54 for the formation of the substantially vertical descending air curtain 123; the assembly formed by the sections 54 and the plates 58 is substantially surrounded by a U-shaped panel 25 which has a vertical bottom 26 and two thin vertical walls left 27 and right 28.
- FIGS. 11 to 13 An alternative embodiment of a substantially vertical air curtain exposure module is illustrated in FIGS. 11 to 13, in which the air distribution and guiding channels of the product exposure unit are formed by three sections of identical tubes 54 joined and parallel to each other (of longitudinal axis 101 vertical), which can be made of folded corrugated cardboard.
- the channels 54 are provided in their part or front wall 102 with perforations 157 allowing the passage of part of the flow of fresh air guided and distributed by the channels 54, to each of the shelves or each zone product display, according to arrows 56; the conduits 54 are of substantially constant rectangular section and communicate (are connected) at their base with the conduit 53 for guiding fresh air provided in the pallet. Said left side wall 27, said bottom wall 26 and said right side wall
- each of the shelves 12 is provided near its front edge 1 16 of protrusions 1 10 forming stops intended to prevent the sliding and falling of the products placed on the shelf; these stops can be obtained by cutting a part of the main panel 103 of the shelf, which can be essentially made of corrugated cardboard; with reference to FIG.
- the shelf panel 103 is extended on its front end by a front strip 104 obtained by folding the same flank of cardboard as the flank used to form this panel 103, as well as three other folds successive 105 which surround a transverse reinforcement 108 extending substantially over the entire width of the shelf 12 and increasing its rigidity; the products 1 1 are shown diagrammatically packaged in trays 107 which are inclined and the last of which bears against the front wall 102 of the air distribution channels 54.
- the shelf 12 consists of four successive folds 106 of the cardboard side used for the manufacture of the shelf, which folds 106 provide a rectangular channel in which is housed a second reinforcement 108, preferably made of wood, which also extends through the openings 1 12 provided in the side walls 27, 28 of the panel 25.
- the assembly is, as illustrated in FIG. 11, surrounded by a second thin panel 125 folded in the shape of a U comprising a left vertical side 127, a vertical bottom panel 126 and a right vertical side 128, which sides 127 and 128 are extended at their front end (or on their front or front edge) by two folds 1 14 which allow the shelves 1 12 to be locked in position.
- an additional panel 109 made of expanded polystyrene approximately 1 to 2 cm thick, can be housed between the panels 25 and 125 in a U shape to improve in particular the thermal insulation of the rear wall 26, 126 of the exposure unit; depending on the desired temperatures which it is necessary to maintain inside such a unit, such panels may prove to be necessary, particularly when the temperature in the cabinet must remain below 0 ° C., for an ambient temperature of 30 degree centigrade; in many cases, the reality. tion of the exposure unit from corrugated cardboard panels (single or double corrugation as shown in figure 13). and the presence of air gaps 1 15 existing between the panels 25 and 125, ensure sufficient thermal insulation.
- the assembly is surrounded at its base by a skirt 7 encircling the panels 25, 125 and encircling the cooling module supporting the exposure module.
- FIGS 8 and 9 illustrate respectively in simplified perspective and in simplified section through a vertical plane, an application of the invention to a product display structure equipped with a horizontal air curtain as shown in these figures by the arrows 123, which air curtain extends in the upper part of the module 3 and the corresponding refrigerated cabinet, along the access opening which it protects from heat inputs.
- the conduits 54 are not perforated but their front wall 102 is interrupted in its upper part (at a dimension lower than the dimension of the upper end of the duct 54), so as to release a substantially rectangular opening as illustrated in FIG. 8, allowing the blowing of the air cooled according to the arrows 56 for forming the air curtain 123.
- the exposure unit 3 essentially consists of the following elements:
- FIG. 8 - one (or more) box or inner envelope of corrugated cardboard 132, 133, each consisting of a bottom wall 138 and side walls 139; as illustrated in figure 8.
- two parallelepipedic envelopes 132 and 133 i. ⁇ riors can be provided which are separated by a 135 flat vertical partition: - Four guide conduits 54 provided with a horizontal blowing opening along the arrow 56 of the cooled air, which conduits 54 are parallel to each other and to one of the partitions or vertical walls of the exposure unit;
- insulating panels 130, 130a and 130b are preferably provided between the rear face of the conduits 54, 540 and the internal face of the external envelope 136.
- two vertical parallel walls of which are provided on their upper ends with a prominent edge 134 capable of being folded (according to the arrows 131) to form a flap serving for the deflection of approximately 90 ° air guided by the conduits 54 and the conduits 540 as illustrated in particular in FIG. 9.
- an exposure module with a horizontal air curtain can be devoid of a shelf or a shelf, which can also be the case for exposure modules with an inclined air curtain, in particular vertical, the exposed products then being stacked on the pallet or on a bottom resting on the pallet.
- Sufficient rigidity of the exposure module is obtained thanks in particular to the air guide tubes or ducts provided in the pallet and / or the exposure superstructure.
- the handling pallet can be supplemented or replaced by handles (154 FIGS. 8 and 10) integrated into the exposure module, which essentially consist of an opening or a recess provided in a rigid lower part 155 of the side walls (such as 27) thereof.
