Definitions
- Screw cap for closing a bottle or the like
- the invention relates to a screw cap of the type mentioned in the preamble of the claim for closing a bottle or the like.
- This goal is achieved by a stop which comes into contact with the front edge of the bottle neck when it is screwed on, as a result of which a precisely defined position with respect to the front edge of the bottle neck and thus also a predetermined compression of the elastic element and thus ensures a predetermined contact force of the sealing surface of the seal on the end face of the bottle neck, as a result of which the maximum pressure is determined at which the pressure relief valve formed by the seal in connection with the elastic element opens and thus gas escapes from the bottle leaves.
- the invention has for its object to provide a screw cap of the type in question, in which a defined screw-on position and thus a predetermined elastic pressure of the sealing surface to achieve a precisely determined overpressure, at which the pressure relief valve opens, is ensured, but at the same time the stop forces are reduced.
- the object on which the invention is based is achieved by the teaching specified in the characterizing part of the claim.
- the basic idea of the teaching according to the invention is not to use a stop surface which acts in the axial direction of the screw thread, but rather a stop surface which acts in the circumferential direction.
- the counter stop surface on the outside of the bottle neck for the stop surface on the screw cap is directed counter to the direction in which the screw part is unscrewed.
- the end of the external thread on the bottle neck facing the end face of the bottle neck can serve in a simple manner as the counter-stop surface.
- This counter-stop surface limits the rotational position of the screw cap and, via this in conjunction with the screw thread, also the axial position, and thus precisely determines the elastic force of the sealing surface and thus the pressure, when it is exceeded, gas can escape from the bottle . Since the stop acts in the circumferential direction, the thread does not increase the force, so that the specific surface pressure on the stop surface is comparatively low.
- the counter-stop surface for the stop surface on the screw cap can also be formed by some other projection on the bottle neck, in the circumferential area of which the stop on the inside of the screw cap comes in a specific screw position, which then the rotational movement is limited.
- FIG. 1 shows a section through an exemplary embodiment according to the invention, screwed onto a neck of a bottle, only partially shown
- FIG. 2 shows a section II-II through FIG. 1.
- the screw cap shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 has a bottom 1 and a cylindrical threaded part 2 with an internal thread 3, with the help of which
- Screw cap is screwed onto an external thread 4 of a bottle neck 5 which is only partially shown.
- a seal 7 which, in a certain manner which is of no further interest here, is flexible in the axial direction and thus at the same time forms an elastic element, as a result of which the seal 7 with its sealing surface 8 with a through the Preload of the elastic element, certain bearing force rests on an end face 9 of the bottle neck 5.
- the seal 7 presses together, so that the sealing surface 8 lifts somewhat from the end face 9 of the bottle neck 5, so that gas escapes from the inside of the bottle can until the pressure has dropped again so far that the sealing surface 8 rests on the end face 9 and seals the interior of the bottle.
- a projection 11 is formed on an inner wall 10 of the cylindrical screw part 2, which has a stop surface 12 lying essentially in a radial plane, which in the screw-on position shown is struck against a counter stop surface 13 at the front end of the external thread 4. This limits the rotational movement of the screw cap when screwing on and thereby also the axial screw-on position, which in turn causes the Compression of the seal 7 is determined. Since the contact forces between the stop surface 12 and counter-stop surface 13 act in the circumferential direction, the screwing forces exerted by hand are not increased by the pitch of the thread, so that the specific surface pressure, in particular on the stop surface 12 on the projection 11, remains low .

Abstract
