Abstract

Des comprimés frittés en polyesters aromatiques, produits à base de diphénols tels que 1,1-bis(4-hydroxyphényl)-1-phényléthane ou 9,9-bis(4-hydroxaphényl)fluorène, et d'hydrocarbures halogènes d'acide phtalique, ou une ou plusieurs températures de transition vitreuse comprises entre 220 et 400 °C et une résistance à la traction supérieure à 40 N/mm2, de préférence supérieure à 60 N/mm2. Afin de produire ces comprimés frittés, la poudre de polyester est soumise dans un moule fermé à une pression supérieure à 3000 N/cm2 pendant que le moule est lentement chauffé, maintenue pendant une période prolongée à une température supérieure à la température de verre, puis lentement refroidie. Pendant le refroidissement, la pression peut être diminuée. Pendant le frittage, la masse de polyester se réticule, ce qui entraîne une augmentation de la résistance aux solvants. Ces comprimés frittés sont utiles en général comme produits semi-finis ou comme ébauches d'éléments préfabriqués, avec lesquels on peut fabriquer les produits voulus par un usinage mécanique.
