Description

DESIGN.
A. RICHMOND.
STOVES. No. 9, 347. Patented June 20. 1876.
UNITED STATES PATENT ()FFICE.
APOLLOS RICHMOND, OF BROOKLYN, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR STOVES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 9.347, dated June 20, 1876; application filed May 22, 1876. [Term of Patent 14 years.]
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, APoLLos Rronmonn, of Brooklyn, in the county of Windham and State of Connecticut, have invented an Improved Design for Ranges or Stoves, of which the following is a fuil, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying photographic illustration or drawing, making a part of this specification.
The matter of my invention is fully represented in the accompanying photographic illustration, to which reference is made.
A represents the body of the range or stove, which is of oval outline, except as broken by the doors and ornaments. B is an upper molding or cornice extending around the top; 6, a lower molding extending around the base or bottom. D represents the door leading to the oven. E is one of two ornaments of grapes, fruits, and leaves. F is one of two doors leading to the back and bottom fines. G isa front damper.
Applicant is well aware that cast or sheet iron heating-stoves have been made in oval form, and he does not, therefore, claim, broadly, the design of an oval for stoves. He is, however, unaware of any cooking range or stove in which the door, ovens, grates, and openings of all sorts have been adapted to an oval form.
The oven-door D is ornamented with game and arms of various sorts.
The ornaments E E are pendent twigs or branches of grapes or fruit. Around the ovendoor, upon the body of the range or stove, I place a grape-vine with grapes and leaves I.
I do not claim in this application the design of oval top and shelf, as I consider this feature as substantially embraced in another application of even date herewith.
What I claim as my invention is- 1. In a cooking range or stove, the design of the oval form with ornamentations, as described, and shown in the photographic illustration.
2. As a design for the ornamentation of a range or stove oven-door, the combination of game and arms, as shown and described.
3. The design of the ornaments E E, as described and shown.
4. The design of the rim with grapes and leaves surrounding the oven-door, as shown and described.
APOLLOS RICHMOND.
