DESIGN FOR AN URN FOR HOT WATER, &c.
Specification forming part of Design No. 6,382, dated February 4, 11 73.
To all whom 'it may concern:
Be it known that I, PHILIP I. MEYER, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented a Design for an Urn for Hot Water and other liquids, of which the following is a specification The nature of my design is fully represented in the accompanying drawing, to which reference is made.
A is a stand for a lamp, and B is the urn proper, which is for holding hot water or other liquid and keeping it hot. The stand is of cylindrical form and is supported on feet ca. It has a flange, b, at its lower edge, and above this is a plain surface surmounted by three contiguous beads, c c, the middle of which is larger than the others. Next is a perforated portion, d, studded with holes or openings of ornamental form, as represented. A short distance higher up is another perforated portion, d, likewise studded with ornamental perforations. Some distance above this is a bead, f, which terminates the stand. On opposite sides of the stand may be handles g g. The urn proper is at the bottom reduced in diameter to fit within the stand, as shown by dotted lines.
It has formed near the bottom a bcad,c, which meets the bead f on the stand. Next is a plain surface surmounted by three beads, h h, the intermediate of which is largest. At this point there may project from the urn a spout or coclr, i. Above the beads just alluded to the urn is contracted in dome shape to a fillet, j, which is surmounted by a cavetto, it. Two beads, I
I, of uniform size, come next, and above them is another cavetto, m. This is surmounted by another fillet, 11, above which is an ogee curve, 0. Two beads,p p, interposed by asurface studded with ornamental perforations, surmount the whole. Handles r r may be provided on opposite sides of the urn itself. In its horizontal section the urn may be either oral or circular.
hat I claim is- A new and original design for urns, substantially as shown and described.
