Description

Patented Oct. 28, 1884;
1:. B 2.2 c e e a horizontality of the UNITED STATES PATENT Fries.
CHARLES EBUSCHE, OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI.
MlNNOW-BUCKET.
SPECIPICATEQN forming part of Letters Patent No. 307,375, dated October 28, 1884. Application filed September 3, 1883 (No model.)
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, CHARLES F. BUsoHE, of the city of St. Louis, in the State of Missouri, have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Minnow-Buckets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to that class of 1ninnow-buckets which are constructed to float when placed in the water. As heretofore constructed such buckets have generally been provided with an airtight-chamber in the lid to cause the bucket to float. The disadvantage of this construction of bucket is that in lifting the lid the air-chamber, being raised with it, causes the body of the bucket to be tilted by transferring the supporting air-chamber to one side, the result being the upsetting of the con;
tents into the larger bucket.
The object of niyinvention is to construct a bucket in such a'manner as to overcome this disadvantage; and my improvement consists in a bucket consisting of an annular air-tight chamber, to which both the perforated body and lid are secured, the lid being adapted to be elevated or removed without disturbing the air-chamber.
The accompanying drawing is a perspective view of my improved bucket, part of the annular air-chamber the interior thereof.
C is an annular air-tight chamber, to which are secured ahandle, D, and lid B. A is a perforated body supported by the chamber on the inside thereof. It will be seen that should the lid be left open, or should it become unfastened, the position of the air-chamber with the body is not affected thereby, the mouth of the bucket being still sustained above the surface of the water.
I have not shown the usual outer bucket, which forms no part of my invention.
I claim as my invention As a new article of manufacture, a minnowbuckct consisting of an annular air-tight chamber, C, having a lid, B, secured thereto, and a perforated body, A, supported by the chamber, substantially as shown, whereby the lid can be raised without disturbing the horizontal position of the bucket, as 'set forth.
