SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,659, dated October 10, 1899.
Application died September 7, 1899. Serial No. 729,783. Term of patent 3. years.
To a whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACOB A. FINN, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Manhattan, city, county, and State of New York, have invented or produced a certain new and original Design for a Stock, of which the following is a specification.
This design relates to neckwear, and par- Q ticularly to articles of the class known as a stock, neckband, or collar.
The new design relates to the shape and the surface ornamentation of a stock.
This design is shown in the accompanying drawing, which is a perspective View of a ladys stock embodying the new design.
Referring to the drawing, Arepresents the body, and B the front, of the stock. The body A is circular or ring-like and has approximately vertical walls 0, which walls are deeper at front than at rear and are crossed from rear to front by an inclined band D, extending from the top of the wall at its rear downwardly toward the bottom of the wall at its front, which band has a width equaling that of the wall 0 at rear, from which it tapers down to a relatively narrow portion at front.
A distinctive feature of the new design is that the front B has a central protuberance I, of irregular oblong shape, disposed vertically on the wide smooth front part of the wall 0, above the narrow portion of the band D, at each side of which protuberance E are the wall C.
disposed wide irregular projections L, meeting the sides of the protuberance and projecting laterally therefrom, which projections are of greater length than width and are disposed in front of the narrow portions of the band D and over the lower front portion of The longitudinal extensions of the protuberance E and projections F are approximately parallel with the axis of the body A. The top end of the protuberance E is relatively broad and its lower end is relatively tapering. The surfaces of the' wall 0 and band D are relatively plain and the surface of the protuberance E has fanciful figures a b c disposed transversely of the protuberance. The front surfaces of the projections F have radiating lines (I, arc-shaped figures (2, and shaded bordersfat their upper portions and radiating lines g, figures it and i, and fanciful borders j at their lower edges.
The new design is of distinctive shape and appearance and produces a pleasing effect.
\Vhat I claim is The design forastock, as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto signed my name in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JACOB A. FINN.
