Description

BEST AVAILABLE COPY DESIGN.
S. KIMBERLY. Package.
No.10,647. Patented April 23, I878,
WITNESSES INVENTOR ATTORNEY UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SAMUEL KIMBERLY, OF'NORFOLK, VIRGINIA.
DESIGN FORPACKAGES.
Specification forming part of Design No. 10,647, dated April 23, 1878; application filed April 5, 1878. [Term of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
7 Be it known that I, SAMUEL KIMBERLY, of Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk and State of Virginia, have originated and designed a Pattern for Packages, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making part of this specification.
My design consists in a package of oblong form, having a body consisting of a bottom and a curved upper portion, which latter merges downward into straight and divergent sides, as the same connects with the bottom of the body, which is the bottom of the package.
Referring to the drawing, Figure 1 is a view in perspective of a package representing the design. Fig. 2 is a crosssection of the same.
The package is of an oblong form with the body, having a flat bottom, A, and an upper curved portion, 13, which latter merges into the straight and. divergent sides 0. p
The ends D may be of any suitable appearance, and preferably the front end is in the form of the top of a can, as shown in the drawing; but the design of the ends is not material, as my invention relates to the appearance of the top, bottom, and sides, constituting the body of the package.
- Having fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
A package of oblong form, having a body with a flat bottom and a curved upper portion which merges into straight and divergent sides, substantially as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 28th day of March, A. D. 1878.
SAMUEL KIMBERLY.
