FRED M. OEDER AND JAMES E. \VRIGIIT, OF \VEST BAY CITY, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A SUGAR-BEET-THINNING SHOE FOR CULTIVATORS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,849, dated May 23, 1899.
Application filetlApril 3, 1899. Serial No. 711,603. Term of patent 7 years.
Figure 1 is a top view of the shoe. Fig. 2 is a side View. Fig. 3 is a front View. Fig. 4
is a View in perspective.
This design relates to the external form or configuration of a beet-thinning shoe, and is characterized by the contour and the relative arrangement of the surfaces comprising it when viewed in plan, front, and side elevations.
The shoe consists, as regards its configuration, of a side plane anda rearwardly-extending wing-plane. The side plane 1, the general contour of which is substantially that of a rhomboid with its upper and lower edges horizontal, inclines from the vertical at an angle of about fifteen degrees when the shoe rests in its normal position on a horizontal plane. A rectangular projection 53 extends vertically upward from the top edge of the plane 1. From the bottom diagonal edge of the rhomboid, which is at the rear of the shoe, a triangular wing 3 extends diagonally downward under the slope of the plane 1, making an angle of about one hundred degrees therewith. The bottom edge of the wing 3 is in the same horizontal plane as the bottom edge of the rhomboid 1 and the traces of the two planes in the horizontal plane include an angle of about one hundred and forty degrees. The upper rear corner of the rhomboidal plane 1 is removed, as shown at 1" in Figs. 2 and 4, and the upper edge of the triangular wing 3 meets the line 1 at its lower extremity.
What we claim is- The design for a sugar-beet-thinning shoe for cultivators herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof we al'fix our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
