DESIGN FOR A DESK.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 26,813, dated March 23, 1897.

Application filed February 4, 1897- Serial No. 622,057. Term of patent '7 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JOHN GRAMELSPACHER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Jasper, in the county of Dubois and State of Indiana, have invented a new and original Design for a Desk, (Case 0,) of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a new and original design for a desk; and it has for its object to provide a designof this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.

. The leading feature of the design resides in a desk having a main flat table supporting a cabinet-top provided with quadrantal end pieces and a roll-curtain connecting the curved front edges of said end pieces, a drawer-holding pedestal arranged at one end of the main table and provided at its upper end with a flat table-board disposed at one side of one of said quadrantal end pieces in .a plane above the plane of the main table, and

an upright rectangular cabinet supported on the rear top portion of the drawer-holding pedestal and projecting a distance above the plane of the cabinet-top of the main table.

A minor feature of the design resides in combining with the features above enumerated a rectangular drawer-spacewithin the lower end of the upright rectangular cabinet supported on top of the drawer-holding pedestal, and also in providing this cabinet, between its lower drawer-space and flat horizontal top, with a rectangular front door hav-- ing a correspondingly-shaped glass panel fitted in its front face.

The drawing is a perspective view of a desk embodying the herein-described design.

Referring to the accompanying drawing,

the numeral 1 designates the main fiat rectangular table of the desk supporting a cabin et-top having opposite qu adrantal end pieces 2, a roll-curtain 3, connecting the curved front edges of said end pieces, and an upright back portion formed with a plurality of pigeon-holes 4, certain of which holes are arranged in vertical columns extending downward to the upper surface of the table 1 and inclosing asquared open space 5, in the upper corners of which space are arranged angular drawers 6 of a somewhat triangular form.

A drawer-holding pedestal '7, containing a plurality of rectangular drawers 8, is located at one end of the main table 1 and is provided at its upper end with a flat table-board 9, disposed at one side of one of the quadrantal end pieces 2. in a plane above the plane of the table 1. An upright rectangular cabinet 10 is supported on the rear portion of the flat table-board 9 and is provided with a flat horizontal top 11 and a rectangular drawer-space 12 in its lower end. The cabinet 10 projects a distance above the plane of the cabinet-top of the main table 1 and is provided between its top 11 and drawer-space 12 with a rectangular front door 13,having a correspondinglyshaped glass panel ll fitted in its front face.

\Vhat I claim is- The design for a desk herein shown and described.
