121mm- 2W 7 4 =5 PATENT OFFICE.
BRADLEY WOODHULL, OF DUNMORE, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO THE SCRANTON STOVE WORKS, OF SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA.
DESIGN FOR A STOVE OR RANGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,663, dated May 17, 1898.
Application filed March 2, 1898. Serial No. 672,342. Term ofpatent 14 years.
T0 at whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, BRADLEY WOODHULL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Dunmore, in the county of Laekawanna and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cooking Stoves or Ranges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing.
The drawing represents in perspective my design for stoves and ranges.
The leading feature of the design is the configuration and ornamentation of the stove, which is German renaissance.
A indicates the base; B, the legs, the basestrip being covered by scroll design having a central ornament C and at the corners above the legs the ornamentations D, the legs being covered with leaf ornamentations, as shown.
E is the oven-shelf, the top of which carries a scroll design, the edge of the shelf being convex and similarly ornamented, the lower edge of the shelf following the outline of the ornament on the edge.
The oven-door F is furnished with a central panel F of scroll design, said panel being partly surrounded by a scroll-and-leaf ornamentation G. To the rear of the oven-door is the reservoir-panel H,carrying a seroll-andleaf ornamentation covering part of its surface, the lower part of said panel following the outline of said ornamentation.
Located to the front of the stove is the firedoor I, panel J, and ash-cup K, ornamented with scroll-and-leaf design and producing the effect of one long door or panel with ornamentation of unbroken design.
L represents the draft-door, the lower section of which is ornamented in scroll design and has the draft-openings Z conforming to the line of ornamentation. Located above and overhanging the openings in the draft-door is the panel L, carrying the scroll-and-leaf ornamentation, as shown. Above the draftdoor on the front end of the range is the feed or broiling door M, carrying an open scrolland-leaf ornamentation.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In a design for a stove or range, the design for the base; substantially as herein shown and described.
2. In a design for a stove or range, the design for the oven-door; substantially as herein shown and described.
