UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THEODORE B. WAY, OF TROY, NEW YORK, ASSIGNOR TO W. STONE SMITH, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A STOVE-DOOR.
(BPECIPICATION forming part of Design No. dated June 1 1986' Application filed April 28, 1886. Serial No. 200,484. Term of patent 315 years. i
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, THEODORE B. WAY, of the city of Troy, county of Rensselaer, State of New York, have invented and produced a new and useful Design for the Ash-Pit Doors of Stoves, of which the following is a specification.
My design relates to the exterior form of stove ash-pit doors, as the same is shown in the accompanyingphotograph, forming a part of this specification, and in which the main or body part 01' the door is designated at D with it as having its exterior surfaces mainly in the same plane.
The letter H designates a hood that is arranged on the exterior and at the front of the body part of the door. This hood, from where applied to the body part of the door and at its top, curves downwardly and frontwardly to form a curtained part of the hood, as indicated at h, and the ends of the hood from Where attached to the body part of the door curve outwardly and frontwardly to join the curtained part, as indicated at h The eurtained part of the hood is continued down to a point a little below the transverse center of the body part of the door. The bottom edge of the curtained part is molded, as indicated at m, and has the centrally-placed pendent ornament O. The inner edges of the front wardly-projected end parts of the hood are curved and inold'ed as designated at m,- but, if desired, the moldings m m and the ornament 0 may be omitted, provided the corn bined body part and hood have the same general form.
Having thus described my design, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, 1s

THEODORE B. WAY.
