ATTORNEY,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
FRANK P. GILLESPIE, OF ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR OF ONE-HALF TO JOS. I. TOWN, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A SHELL FOR GAS-FUEL BURNERS.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 28,598, dated May 10, 1898.
Application filed A il 1, 1897. Serial No. 630,303. Term of patent '7 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRANK P. GILLEsPIE, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Erie, in the county of Erie and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Shell for Gas- Fuel Burners; and I do hereby declare the following tobe a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as Will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked thereon, forming part of this specification.
The figure is a perspective view of my new design.
As shown in the drawing, the leading features of my design consist of a shell for a gasfuel burner, the general shape of which is rectangular, the top thereof, however, having two transverse curved ridges thereon with a flat surface between them, the top of the ridges being transversely slotted and having at the central part of one side thereof a tubular projection which enlarges gradually to the outer end thereof.
In the drawing, A is a rectangular shell, the vertical depth of which is approximately one-fourth, more or less, of one of the sides of the shell A. On the top of this shell are curved ribs B B, which extend across the ends A A of the shell and in width extend about onethird of its length to a central flat surface a, which forms the central part of the top of the shell A, these ribs B B being provided with transverse slots 13. Secured to the end A of the shell A there is a tube C, which extends outward therefrom, gradually enlarging to the outer end 0 thereof.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is-
The design for the shell of a gas-fuel burner, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I aflix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
FRANK P. GILLESIIE.
Witnesses:
FRED EINFELDT, J. I. TOWN.
