Description

DES l C N. No. 29,928. Patented lan. 3, |899.
D. S. RICHARDSON.
GBATE BAR.
(Application led Dec. 9, 1898.)
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
D\VIGHT S. RICHARDSON, OF NEV YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A GRATE-BAR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,928, dated January 3, 1899.
Application filed December 9, 1898. Serial No. 698,789. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, 15 may concern:
Beit known that LDWIGHT SRICHARDSON, residing in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Grate-Bars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming apart thereof.
In said drawings, Figures l and 2 are elevations frorn dierent points of view of a gratebar embodying my present design. Fig. 3 is a cross-section on the line x. Fig. 4 is a cross-section on the line y fy.
Like letters of reference in the several iigures indicate the same parts.
The leading feature of the present design is the faces, triangularly disposed with relation to each other to form a bar triangular in crosssection, with transverse corrugations on each face and a series of transverse apertures passing through the bar from face to face. Each face of the bar has running transversely across it a series of elevations A and a corresponding series of depressions B, giving the corrugated appearance indicated in Figs. 1 and 2. Each face is straight from one side edge t0 the other, as shown in Figs. S and 4, and in each face, between the elevations A, are a series of apertures D, somewhat elongated transversely of the bar and extending through to each of the other faces.
The design is applicable to grate-bars for fuel-burners generally.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a grate-bar herein shown and described.
