A li ti filed March 16, 1897. $erial No. 627,889. Term of patent 14 years.
To a whom it may (o/worn:
Be it known that I, WlLLIAii XEMoL'ns RoBEET, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Orleans, in the parish of Orleans and State of Louisiana, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Spinal Jacket; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the artto which it appertains to make and use the same.
My design consists, essentially, of a spinal jacket having a shape or configuration as shown in the accompanying drawings, wherclll Figure l rcpresen ts an elevation of the spinal jacket. Fig. 2 represents a side elevation of the said spinal jacket, and Fig. 5] represents a rear elevation of the same.
The upper edge or outline of the jacket is provided with concave curvatures l l at each side and concave curvature 2 at the middle of the back. On either side of the curvature 2 is a convex curvature i], and near the front edge of the jacket and adjacent tothe concave curvatures 1 1 are convex curvatures II 11.
The lower edge of the jacket is provided with convex curvature 12 in the middle of the back, concave curvatures 5 5 at either side of the convex curvature I2, convex curvatures 13 13 at each side of the jacket, convex curvatures 14: 14 at the front, and concave curvatures 4 4 at either side of the front between the convex curvatures 13 13 and 14 14.
The front of the jacket is open and the back is closed, and the outline of the front edges has a slight concave curvature when viewed from the side, as in Fig. 2, and a slight convex curvature when viewed from the front, as in Fig. 1.
The body of the jacket has small inner vertical strips 6 6, larger horizontal cross-strips 7 7, and vertical cross-strips 8 8.
At the hack of the jacket a pair of still larger cross-strips 9 J are arranged diagonally across each other near the waist-line, and at either side of the jacket another pairof similar wires 10 10, crossed diagonally upon each other near the waist-line, extend from the upper to the lower edges of the jacket.
What I claim is The design for a spinal jacket, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof I afiix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
