HOVARD C. NOBLE, OF NElV BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT, ASSIGNOR TO THE NORTH & JUDD MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A HEEL-PROTECTOR.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 26,108, dated September 29, 1896. Application filed August 10, 1896. Serial No. 602,364. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HOWARD C. NOBLE, a citizen of the Ynited States, residing at New Britain, in the county of Hartford and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Heel-Protector, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a heelprotector, showing my design. Fig. 2 is an enlarged plan view of the same, and Fig. 3 is a vertical section on the line I a: of Fig. 1.
The leading feature of mydesign with particular reference to its useful shape in a functional sense, as well as in its general appearance, consists in the wedge-shaped sides and peripheral shoulder at about the middle of the height of the article.
I prefer to form the protector of a horseshoe or U shaped form in plan View; but the form into which it may be bent may vary somewhat without departing from the main features of my design. The ends a a of the strip of metal from which the holder is formed are separated from each other to a greater or less extent,acc0rding to the form of the holder in plan view.
The inside of the holder has straight vertical walls, as shown. The outside presents the form of two wedge-shaped portions 12 b, as seen in end view or section, and at the junction of the said two wedge-shaped portions is the peripheral shoulder c, all as shown.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a heel-protector substantially as herein shown and described.
I-IOW'ARD C. XOBLE.
