WILLIAM A. SCIILEICIIER, Oi CLEVELAND, ()IIIO.
DESIGN FOR A BUCKLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 24,731, dated October 8, 1895.
Application filed February 23, 1895. Serial No. 539,485. Term of patent 14 years.
To (d6 whom it may concern:
Ileitknowu that I,\\'[Li.i.\.\tASCIILEICIIER, of Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented a new and original Design for Bucklcgof which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure I shows in side elevation a buckle embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
The design consists in the peculiar shape and configuration, as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which latter 2 3 representthe parallel end bars, which are formed as shown in the drawings, one 2 having a substantially plane surface with a convexly-cnrved inner face and the other 3 being cylindrical. Said bars are represented at 5 and, as illustrated in Fig. 2, are of bowed form. In their lateral extent they are narrowed throughout a portion of their length and at the central portion merge into the cross-bar 6. The external edges of the bars 5 are formed on a concave curve, being almost straight to a point opposite crossbar 6, when the concave curve becomes more pronounced and continues to the point I, whence the curve is convex, merging into the line forming the outer edge of the end bar I thus affording a portion which is considerably swelled, so that between the points 1 l the buckle is materially wider than at the end :2. The inner edge of the bars 5 opposite the swell l are formed on a concave adjacent the juncture with the end bar 3.
7 is a part which extends from the cross-bar to one of the end bars.
The leading feature of the present design consists in the peculiar shape of the buckle, and especially of the buckle having the peculiar formation of the side bars 5, that is formed with the swell 1, as shown.
I claim- The design for a buckle herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
WILLIAM A. SCllLEItJllER.
