WITNSGSES INVENTOR W e m QHW an!" I Mum warn um vuuulllmn ll:
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE \VILLIAM A. SCIILEICIIER, OF CLEVELAND, OlIlO.
DESIGN FOR A BUCKLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,732, dated October 8, 1895.
Application filed February 14,1395. Serial No 538,436. Term of patent 14 years To all whom it may concern:
lie it known that I, WILLIAM A. SCHLEIL'HER, of Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented a new and original Design for llncklesmf which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 shows in side elevation a buckle embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
The design consists in the peculiar shape and configuration, as herein described and illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which latter 2 3 represent the parallel end bars, which are formed as shown in the drawings, one 3 being substantially flat and widened out during the greater part of its extent between the side bars and having the notches 4 4 at its end where it merges into the side bars and the other 2 being cylindrical.
5 5 are the side bars, which are of bowed form,as shown in Fig. 2, and which are peculiarly formed on their inner and outer edges by being narrowed throughout the greater portion of their lengtlnexcept at the center, where they run into the cross-bar 6, but on their inner edges are eoncavely formed adja cent the point of juncture with the end bar 3, while on their outer edge they are formed substantially straight throughout a certain portion of their length, then on a slight concaveeurve for a shortdistance, which concave curve adjacent the end 3 merges into a short convex curve, forming a swell 1, clearly illustrated in Fig. 1.
7 is a part which extends from the crossbar to one of the end bars.
I claim- The design for a buckle herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
\VILLIAM A. SCIILEIUI'IER. Witnesses:
