DESIGN FOR A FERRULE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,818, dated March 18, 1902.

Application filed February 19, 1902. Serial No. 94,841. Term of patent 7 years.

Be it known that 1, ROBERT A. KOHLHEPP, a citizen of the United States, residing at Wallingford, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new andoriginal Design fora Ferrule, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

Figure 1 is a side elevation of a ferrule for cutlery, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.

As shown in the drawings, the middle portion of the ferrule is in the form of a ball or sphere 3, at the top and bottomrof which there is a projecting band 4, with scroll-like ends 5, extending inwardly toward each other, as shown. Upon the sides, between the ends 5,

there is a globular bead 6. On either side or end of the parts before described there is a beaded band 8, from which there extends the outwardly-spreading leaflets9. At the bolster end of the ferrule there is a quarter-band 10 and at the handle end a plain band 11 and head 12, the latter being adjacent to the leaflets 9. The general form of the ferrule in end view is oval.
