DESIGN FOR A LEVER ATTACHMENT FOR BICYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,340, dated September 13, 1898.
Application filed August 2, 1898. Serial No. 687,565. Term of patent 14 years.
To 60% whom it may concern.-
Be it known that 1, JAMES E. WILSON, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bridgeport, in the county of Fairfield and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Lever Attachment for Bicycles; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a perspective View illustrating my newly-designed lever, and Fig. 2 is a plan view of the same.
Similar numbers of reference denote like parts in both figures of the drawings.
The leading or material features of my design are the U-shaped lever, whose sides 1 converge and are plain and flat and are united at the converging ends by a plain curved portion a, from which latter extends aplain fiat tongue-like portion 4, having extending therethrough from side to side perforations 5, also the cylindrical hub-like portions 2, which extend laterally and outwardly from the rear ends ofsaid sides, and the plain fiat portions 3, which extend rearwardly from the outer extremities of the hubs in parallelism with each other and have in their extreme rear edges concavities b.
I claim- The design for a lever attachment for bicycles, substantially as herein shown and described.
