DESIGN FOR A BOW-SHIELD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,622, dated November 27, 1900.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, IRVING V. PERINE, a. citizen of the United States, residing at East Orange, county of Essex, and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bow-Shields, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a rear elevation of the bowshield, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the bow-shield, and Fig. 3 is a side or end view thereof.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of my design consist of the widened ends 01' Wings 10, which when viewed in elevation are rounding or nearly oval, the reduced middle portion 11, and the open-work structure on the back of the design.
The how-shield is reduced in the middle, as shown at 11, and its opposite ends are widened and rounded or curved to form the two wings 10, which when viewed in plan are curved or bent backward, as in Fig. 2, and
which near the center have through them the circular openings 12. On thecenter and back of the shield is an open-work structure, which when viewed in plan has a general S shape, with one memherlfi lying on the front of the design and with the body portion of the structure on the back, this body portion comprising the members 13,whieh are bent inward, as shown at 14 in Fig. 1, and merge in the laterallyextending loop 15. The shield is left 'plain at both sides, except for the openings 12 and the open-work struetu re referred to.
