DAVID WALKER, OF NEW'ARK, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A STAlR-CARPET FASTENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,723, dated May 9, 1899.
Application filed April 12, 1899. Serial No. 712,809 Term of patent 7 years.
To all whmn it may concern.-
I30 it known that 1, DAVID WALKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jer sey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Stair-Carpet Fastener; and I do hereby declare the following to he a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a stair-can pet fastener of my new design, and Fig. 2 is a section of the same on line 00.
The leading or material feature of my new design consists in a stair-carpet fastener having the configuration as follows, to Wit:
The fastener is in cross-section of quadrantal shape, and the outer convex face a is for its middle portion bounded by straight side lines I). At each end of the central straight pow tion the convex face gently tapers concavely toward the opposite ends of the fastener, said coucavelytapering portions being bounded by the concave lateral edges 0. Beyond said concavely-tapering parts the convex face of the fastener tapers more sharply, first eoneat'ely and then convexly, providing ogeeshaped tips d for the fastener.
W'hat I claim as new is- The design for a stair-carpet fastener as herein shown and described.
