DESIGN FOR A SPOON.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,105, dated October 6, 1891. Application 'filed September 5, 1891. Serial No. 404,893. Terni of patent '7 years.
To all whom it mary concern:
Be it known that I, HORACE M. WILSON, a citizen of the United States` rcsidingat Cambridge, in the county of Middlesex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Spoon-Handles, oli which the following is a full specification.
The accompanying drawing represents a spoon the handle 0f which shows my design.
The leading feature of my design consists in a representation of musical characters runnnglengthwse of the spoon-handle, together with certain additional. ornamentation forming a nart of the design, as hereinafter described.
A is the handle of the spoon, the contour of which is wavy, as shown, with a narrow raised edged following said contour. At certain intervals along the outline of thehandle the scrolls (1, project inward from the raised edge a, said scrolls, of which there are two on each side, being at concave portions of the wavy contour and dividing the handle, as it were, into three portions or panels, of which that at the outer end of the handle is the widest.
B is a representation of musical charac ters running lengthwise of the handle through the center thereof. As shown in the draw ings, the first few measures of the tune oi". Fair Harvard are represented thereon. Within the central portion or panel of the handle, above and below the music, as at C, are words in curved lines following the wavy contour,as shown-as,for instance, the words Fair Harvard. ln the outer of the three panels or portions of the spoon-handle is the shield D, the point or bottom of which is adjacent to the music l and in line with the center thereof.
I do not claim the representation of any particular musical characters, nor any par ticular words as a part of my design.
I claimrlhe design foraspoon-handlc herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
HORACE M. WlLSON.
