DESIGN FOR A TRACE-FASTENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,288, dated. November 12, 1901. Application filed September 30,1901. Serial No. 77,153. 7 Term ofpatent 14 years.
To aZZ whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, ROBERT H. BERKSTRES- SER, a citizen of the United States, residing at York,in the county of York and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Trace-Fastener, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and useful design for a trace-fastener; and it has for its [0 object to provide a design of this character which shall be both useful and ornamental. The leading feature of the design resides in a body of an approximate V shape, one of its side members having at the end opposite 13 the apex or bend of the'body a pair of circular adjoining ears and the other of said side members being provided at its terminal opposite the apex or bend with an inturned prong. The body is also provided with alatorally-expanded portion at its apex or bend. In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a trace-fastener embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a side view thereof. Fig. 3 is a top view of the same, and
Fig. 4 is a bottom view.
Referring particularly to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates the body of the article, which is of an approximate V shape in elevation and consists of the separate side members 2 and 3,disposed at an acute angle to each other. The said body is provided at the apex or bend adjoining the said side members with a laterally-expanded portion 4, having the rounded side lobes 5 projecting beyond the side edges of the separate members 2 and 3. The side member 2 is straight for the greater portion of its length and is provided at the end opposite the apex or bend 4 with a pair of circular adjoining ears 6, lying Within the same longitudinal plane of the body and having therein the circular holes or perforations. The other side member 3 of the body is straight throughout its length and is provided at the terminal opposite the apex or bend 4 with a right -angularlydisposed inturned prong 8, having a rounded tip 9 and at its base having rounded shoulders 10, curving into the side edges of the side arm 3.
