DESIGN FOR A WATCH-CASE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,484, dated April 19, 1892.

Application filed March 17, 1892- Serial No. 425.367 Term of patent 7 years- To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, Tnonlts BENFIELD, a subject of Her Majesty the Queen of Great Britain, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New J ersey, have in vented and produced a new and original Design for Watch-Cases, of which the following isa specification, reference being had to the aecompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

Figure 1 is a plan view of a watclrcase, showing my new design. Fig. '2 is a sectional view thereof, taken on the line X X of Fig. l.

The leading or material feature of this design consists of a series of corrugations A, dis posed or arranged as shown in Fig. 1, and which, as is shown in Fig. 3, are concave in cross-section, said grooves or corrugations A being parallel on the opposite sides of the center of the case and joining at the ends the corrugations upon the opposite sides of the :0

center of the case until they approach the outer edges of the case, where they run from edge to edge, as indicated at B. The several portions may, it is manifest, be engraved, chased, or otherwise ornamented, as desired.

It is apparent that this design may be also applied to lockets and other similar articles with pleasing eifect.

Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
