DESIGN FOR A PAPER-FASTENER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,098, dated October 6, 1891. Application filed September 12, 1891. Serial No. 405,541 Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. McGILL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Riverdale, New York, in the county of New York and Slate of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Paper and other Fasteners, of which the following is a specification.
This design has for its object to provide a novel and ornamental paper or other fastener; and it consists in a. fastener having a square head provided with beveled sides,a flattened lower surface, and two superimposed prongs Fxtending from the center of the lower surace.
The design is illustrated by the aceom panying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective View looking at the upper su rface of the fastener. Fig. 2 is a. similar View looking at the lower surface of the same, and Fig. 3 is a top plan View.
In the drawings, the numeral 1 indicates the square head, produced by equal sides and equal angles. The sides are each heveled,as at l, and the lower surface is flattened, as at 3,and from the center thereof extend two fiat rectangular superimposed prongs 4 and 5, of different length.
The design provides a novel and ornamental paperorother fastener,which presents a striking and characteristic appearance.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for a paper-fastener provided with a square head having beveled sides and a flattened lower surface and from the center of which extend two superimposed prongs, substantially as shown and described.
