The leading features of my design consist in the particular configuration of the base, the pedestal, and the shaft. The base 1, having four verticalsides terminating at their top in an obtuse frnstum 2, of a pyramid. The pedestal 3, has four vertical sides which also terminate in an obtuse frustuin ot' a pyramid, shown at at. The shaft 6, has for the main portion four nearly vertical sides, joined at their bottom to the frustum 4, and terminating at their four upper corners in an acute frustum 7 of a pyramid, the four sides of which are partly covered by the flat ornamental extensions 8, of each of the foursides of the shaft 6, and mounting the four-sided embossed finial 9.
Another feature of my design is the ornamentation of the sides of the shaft 6, which may consistin asingle tablet 10,011 each side, which is best designated by a surface of a different character from the other portions, and distinguished therefrom by a border line 11, having the configuration shown, that at their bottom being a convexed arch 12, depending from the center of each of which isa trefoil, 13.
