WILLIAM H. PERRY, OF CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE.

Be it known that I, WILLIAM H. PERRY, a Itizen of the United States, residing at Conord, in the county of Merrimac and State of l ew Hampshire, have invented and produced e new and original Design for Monuments, of
hich the following is a specification, referl e being had to the accompanying drawing.
My design consists essentially in the conguration of the shaft, its various ornamenal tablets, and the different style of finish of he several parts, which will be fully set forth n the following specification and claim, and
learly illustrated in the accompanying drawv ng, on which gures and letters are used for l eference.
T he base 1, has four vertical sides termiu ating at their top in an obtuse frustum of a pyramid 2, upon which rests the pedestal l. aving four vertical sides 3, which terminate t their top in an acute frustum of a pyram 1d 4, one or more sides of which is provided v ith a raised tablet 5.
The shaft has four tapering sides 6, ornauented with the polished tablets 7, and 8,-- here being two of latter, one for each upper orner of either of the tapering sides, and all eing distinguishable by heavy border lines DESIGN FOR A MONUMENT.

Application filed August 1, 1894. Serial No. 519,217. Term of patent '7 years.
of the conguration shown at 9. is further ornamented with the raised tablets 10, and 11;-the former being at its bottom and having its upper edge beveled as seen at 12, the latter being at the top of the shaft and having its lower edge beveled, on all sides, as at 13;-the central portion of the -beveled edge 13, of each side being chamfered as at 14.
The corners of the tablet 11, are chamfered as seen at 15, and said tablet is further ornamented by a bead 16, cut in each of its vertical sides, and the top of said tablet terminates in a pyramid, 17, in each side of which is formed a groove 18, tapering toward the top and having a conveXed bottom as at 19. The several styles of iinish for the diierent parts are designated by reference letters ;-A, representing rock-work, B, hammered-Work, and C, polished-work.
What I claim is- The design for a monument, substantially as described and shown.
