DESIGN FOR A BUTTON-BACK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 18,331, dated May 22, 1828.
Application filed March 3|, 1888. Serial No. 169,197. Term of Intent I years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, SHUBAEL COTTLE, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original De sign for Collar-Buttons, Studs, Sleeve-Buttons, &c., of which the following is a specification.
The part of the button to which my design is intended to be applied is the back, and the object is to give the same a more ornamental appearance and to impart a distinctive character thereto.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a face view of the back. Fig. 2 is a sectional view on theline a: wot Fig. 1, showing the contour. Fig. 3 is a similar sectional viewshowing a slight modification.
Similar letters of reference indicate like parts.
The back A of the button is circular in form. In the center appears a circular convex elevation, B. around which is a circular depression, G. This depression may be concave or rounded, as shown in Fig. 2, or it may exhibit a re entering angle, as shown at C, Fig. 3.
I claim- The design for the backs of collar or sleeve buttons or studs, substantially as hereinshown and described, which consists in the circular face A, the center circular convex elevation, B, and the circular depression C, the said depression showing both sides inwardly inclined.
