HENRY Ii. LEIliE, (3F NlfilVAltli, NFAY JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A MATCH OR ASH REGElVER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 20,532, dated February 24, 1891.
Application filed January 20, 1891. Serial No. 378,478. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
lie it known that I, HENRY L. LEIBE, ccitizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New J ersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Match or Ash Receiver; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which forms a part of this specification.
The accompanying photograph shows the newly-designed match, ash, or salt receiver with sufficient elearness to illustrate my des1 gn.
The leading feature of the design consists in the ash or match receiver shaped like or having the configuration of two bivalvular mollusk-shells placed back to back, so that their concavities face oppositely, parts of the surface being covered and parts disclosing the natural design and configurations of colormg.
In said photograph, a is the upturned shelllike part, and b the base shell-like part. c is the exposed or uncovered concave surface of said upturned part, and d is a bead-like marginal riin which conceals the natural edge of the shell-like part from View. e is a deposit of covering-matter on the outer parts, and f are openings in said covering, through which the shell-like parts and the configurations of coloring thereof are soon.
What I claim is- The design for a, match or ash receiver herein shown and described, consisting of the hivalvular inollusk-shell-shaped parts a, b, the outer parts 6 of which are covered and concealed from View and the concaved upper part c of which is uncovered and discloses to view the natural configurations of a shell, as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 10th day of January, 1891.
