10 all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WALLAcE DURAND, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark,in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and useful Design in Watchcases; and I do hereby declare the following to be afull, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 is a face view of a watch case, and Fig. 2 is an edge view of the same, these two views being deemed sufficient to fully illustrate the design.
The leading feature of the design consists in the watch case, which is round in plan, convex at the edges and approximately flat at the center of the sides, the said flat center being ornamented with a mermaid shaped decoration.
In said drawings, a, indicates the round face of the watch case which is convexly curved at the edges and at the center of the sides approximately flat, as indicated in Fig. 2. The flat center part of the side of the case is ornam en ted bya figure representing a mermaid holding a tress of her hair in one hand, and, at one side, with a figure similar in shape to to the zodiacal sign for the constellation Virgo.
What I claim as new is The design for a watch ease, herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 27th day of January, 1894.
