To (LH whom, it 71mg/ concern.,-
Bc it known that I', Jonar F. MARTENS, a citizen of the United States. and a resident of the city of' tlincinnati, in ille county of Hamilton and State ot` Ohio, hare invented and produced a new and original Design for Cook- Stoves, of which the following is a clear, full, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying illustrations, forming part thereof'.
In the illustrations, Figure 1 shows a cookstove haring all the fhatnres ot' my design with the heating-closet and reservoir at taehed. Fig. 2 shows the principal tentures ot my design with thc heating attarhnient and reservoir relnoved.
The general configuration and ornamentation of' the store are shown in Figs. l and 2.
The relative propori inns and contignrations ofthe firedoor and oi' the oven -door are shown; also the position and configuration of the feed-door and hearth.
The oven-door is ornamented with a novel and peculiar figure representing a series 0f twigs extending from one stein, which stein extends from the lower forward corner backward and upward across said door. Ou the upper termination of said stem, near the upper rear corner of said door, isthe fiower A, and from a twig ot' said stein is another flower, B, near the lower rear corner of said door; also, from said twig is another tiower near the center of the door. This oven-door is also ornainented with band C, extending across its forward face, and centrally located in this band is the handle ot' the door. On this ovendoor, at the rear end, midway itsheight, is a butterfly; but the leading feature of design is the peculiar stem, twigs, and flowers, and the band. On the tire-door is a smaller stem having two twigs emanating from said stein and extending at a line almost at right angles to the stem, and terminating, respectively, in flowers D and E.
The feed-door F is provided with a design consisting of two bands extending vertieall \Y across its face and a twig and flowers between said bands, as shown.
The front of the stove, underneath the hearth, is provided with an ornamental panel, G, ornamented somewhat similar to the i`eeddoor F, by two bands and twig, with iiowcrsy between said bands, as shown.
The leading features of my design are the ornamentation on the oren-door, as deserihed Iand shown; the ornamentation on the tirev door, as described and shown; the ornainenta tion on the feed-door, as described, and the ornamentation on the front panel underneath the hearth, as described and shown.
That I claim as new and of my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Iatent, is-
1. In a design for a stove, the oren-door having the ornamentation or parts A, B, and C, as described and shown.
2. In a design fora stove, the fire-door haring the ornamentation of a stein dividing into twigs which terminate in the flowers l) and E, as described and shown.
3. In a design fora stove, the ornamentation of the panel underneath the hearth with bands and sprigs, as described and shown.
