DESIGN FOR THE ORNAMENTATION OF BURlAL-CASKETS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,496, dated December 18, 1883. Application filed October 19, 1883. Term of patent7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, STANLEY REYNOLDS, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented a certain new and useful Design for Burial-Caskets; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification, and in which- Figure 1 is a perspective view of a casket decorated with my new design. Figs. 2, 3, and 4 are views of some slight variations in the design; and Fig. 5 is a section on line xx, Fig. 2.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.
My new design is especiallyintended for the decoration of burial-caskets; and it consists of ornamentation forming sectors of a circle, as shown in the drawings, in which the letter A indicates the casket, and B the design, which forms a circlesector or an entire circle In a design for a coffin, the hereinzdescribed ornamentations. consisting of sectors having beveled edges forming radial gutters, and arranged in a circle or circleseetor, a circular or segmental molding near the center of the design, a circular or segmental row of beads inside the molding, and a circular or sectorshaped center plate, as shown and described.
