BLASTER CENTEE PIECE.
Patented Sept. 4, 1883.
ATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM F. KELLE'IT, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A PLASTER CENTR-PIECE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 14,257, dated september 4,1883.
Application filed December 1, 1882. Term of patent 14 years.
. the accompanying engraving, forming a part thereof, and in which- Figure l shows my design with the radiating panels foliated, or with Japanesque leaves, buds, and tendrils terminating in rosettes. Fig. 2 shows my design With radiating panels in fruit. These views I deem necessary in order to fully illustrate my design. I vary the relief on the radiating panels, and I have found such variation to be desirable in designs of this character.
My design is fully shown by the accompanying engravings, and it consists of a square molded. frame, A, with ornamented cornerblocks, such frame inclosing an interrupted ring, B, with maple-leaves and scalloped molding, as shown in the engraving, between the ring and the frame, and adjacent to the inner corners of the frame my design is in diaper- Work C. From a rosette, H, in the center of the ring there are radiating panels D in Japanesque leaves, buds, and tendrils, terminating in rosettes, with foliated panels E at right angles thereto, as shown in Fig. 1 in the engraving; or the radiating panels are of fruit in relief, -as indicated by F and G in Fig. 2.
The vdifference in minor details of construc- 3 5 tion or ornamentation of different parts of my ,design I deem desirable, as I have already stated.
The frame has end pieces, I, with scalloped border and clasp, and containing branches of 4o laurel and row of overturned leaves with water-course panel in the center of said end piece. On the other ends of the frame are spiral scrolls J J with rosettes. This construction of end pieces is shown in both figures.
It is evident that it may be desirable in some of the uses of this design to dispense with the end pieces.
A design for plaster center-pieces, consisting of a square molded frame with ornamented corner blocks, interrupted ring, and diaper- Work, a central rosette With radiating panels foliated `and having buds and tendrils and terminating in rosettes, and end pieces 011 two opposite sides of the frame, With scalloped border and clasp containing branches of laurel and row of overturned leaves with Watercourse panel, and having spiral scrolls on the other end, all substantially as shown and described.
WILLIAM F. KELLETT.
