Description

DESIGN.
B. F. PIGKERING.
WRENCH.
No. 13,065. Patented July 18,1882.
WITNESSES UN TED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
BLAKE F. PIGKERING, OF SALMON FALLS, NEW HAMPSHIRE.
DESIGN FOR A WRENCH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,965, dated July 18, 1882.
Application filed May 13, 1882. Term of patent 1' years.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, B. F. PICKERING,a0itlZ0l1 of the United States, and a residentof Salmon Falls, in the county of Straiford and State of New Hampshire, have invented a new and valuable Improvement in Designs for Wrenches; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to the letters and figures of reference marked thereon.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a representation of a side view of this invention. Fig. 2 is a perspective view.
Thisinvention has relation to wrenches and it consists in the novel form and configuration set forth.
The faces of the wrench are Hat and parallel. A jaw-head is arranged at each end, and the shank between the jaw-heads is oblique. The jaw-heads are of similar form, but difl'erent in size. Each jaw-head a is bounded on the external sides by a curved convex edge, b, and a straight, or nearly straight, edge, e, the convex curved edge of one head being connected by the concave edge curve d of the shank to the straight, or nearly straight, edge of the oppo- Sitc head. Each head is formed with a truncated tapering jaw-notch, 0, extending frotthe end inward, and having the inner edge of its outer jaw, g, serrated, as indicated at h. These serrated edges are formed on parallel, or nearly parallel, lines with each other and with the shorter and straighter edges 0 of the jaw-heads. The form is such that while the inner jaws, k, are nearly in line with each other the jaw-notches are widely out of line, their general direction being oblique to the central line oitbe shank I.
What I claim and desire to secure is The design of a flat double-headed wrench, formed with tapering jaw-notches c in its ends out of line with each other, and an oblique shank, I, having concave edges d respectively con nectingthe straight, or nearly straight, edge 0 of the innerjaw, k, of one head with the convex edge b of the outer jaw, g, of the other head, as shown and set forth.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
WILLIAM H. Mos'ron, CHAS. F. W001).
