DESIGN FOR A RASP.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 30,996, dated June 13, 1899.
Application iiled May 17, 1899. Serial No, 717,276. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE E. Psoe, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cherry Valley, in the county of Otsego and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Rasp, of which the following is a specification.
The invention relates to a new and original design for rasps.
The essential feature of the design resides in a rasp provided between its side edges with angularly-disposed transverse openings arranged parallel and separated by angular-lydisposed beveled blades arranged parallel, and a minor feature of the design resides in the parallel longitudinal recesses at the side edges of the rasp at the ends of the transverse blades.
In the drawings, Figure l is a perspective View of a rasp, showing my new and original design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a perspective View showing the reverse face of the rasp.
Like numerals of reference designate corresponding parts in all the figures of the drawlngs.
l designates a rasp consisting of a solid portion 2 and a slotted portion 3, provided with a series of transverse openings arranged parallel and disposed at an angle. The solid portion 2 has a filejsnrface, and the slots 3 are separated bymtransveise angularly-disposed blades 4, beveled at one side and disposed at an inclination. The side edges of the slotted or open portion of the rasp are provided with longitudinal recesses arranged at the ends of the blades and extending from the solid portion l to the outer end of the slotted portion.
