SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 11,989, dated October 26, 1880.
Application filed July 31,1880. Term of patcnt years.
To alt whom 'it may concern Be it known that I, EDUARD LEISSNER, of New York, in the county and State of` New York, have invented a new and original Design for Tall-Paper, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for wall-paper and similar fabrics.
It consists in a novel grouping and conigu- 1o ration of iigures hereinafter more fully described.
The accompanying photograph illustrates a face View ot'wall-paper having my new design.
By three vertical or longitudinal stripes, a,
b, and d, the paper is divided into four upright parallel sections, A, B, G, and D.
The section A is, by three cross-stripes, c, f, and g, divided into three shorter fields, h, (hetween e andf,) t', (betweenfand 9,) and j, (bezo tween g and e.) The field h contains an ornamentation, consisting cfa. bouquet of buds and lowers with long stems, which come near together at the bottom of the field. The field t' contains an ornamentation of star shaped flowers and small buds upon a branching vine. The field j contains an ornamentation of round iiowers with prominent radiating pistils and their buds growing upon a branch or vine.
The section Bis divided by four cross-stripes,
3o lm n o, into the fields p, q, andj'. The field j is identical in its ornamentation with the field j, already described. The ieldp is ornamented with a bouquet of flowers, which bears a great resemblance to the bouquet in the ield h., but differs from it in arrangement. The field g is ornamented with flowers upon a vine, much like those shown in the field i, but differing somewhat in arrangement.
The section C is divided by three cross- 4o stripes, s t n, into the lieldsp q r. The fields p and q are identical in their ornamentation with the elds lo and q, already described. The field `ris ornamented with iiowers and buds like those shown in the eldsj and j', but dif- 4 5 fering somewhat in their arrangement.
The section D is divided by four cross-stripes, c w a: y, into the field h', identical in its ornamentation with the field h, the field i', nearly identical in its ornamentation with the field t', and the field r', identical in its ornamentation 5o with the field r.
With the longitudinal stripe a is entwined the band E E E, crossing in front of and behind it alternatelyand passing under the crossstripes gf e and over the cross-stripes lm no. A similar band, Gr G G, is entwined in the same manner with the longitudinal stripe b, and passes under thc ciossstripes lm n o and over the cross-stripes s t n. A. similar band,
H H H, is entwined in the saine manner with 6o the longitudinal stripe d, and passes under the cross-stripes s t n and over the cross-stripes o w m y. The eect produced is that ot a latticework trellis with rectangular openin gs, in which appear flowering bouquets or branches with flowers thereupon.
