DESIGN FOR PIPE-STEM.
Specification forming part of Design No. 11,278, dated July l, 1879; application filed May 29, 1879. [Term of patent 7 years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM DEMUTH, of the city, county, and State of New York,have originated a new Pattern for PipeStems, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making part of this speci Iication.
This design is represented in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure l represents a stem, in perspective view, containing my design. Fig. 2 is a rear View thereof.
Similar letters indicate corresponding parts.
This design consists in a pipe-stem having a prism containing dots on its exposed sides or faces, as will more fully hereinafter appear.
In the drawings, the letter A designates a stem embodying a dotted prism, B, also a set of moldings, C, above the prisln, and a set of moldings, D, below the same. The upper molding, (l, consists of a bead joining` with the prism, and surmounted by a short cylindrical portion terminating in a polygonal eollar, from which extends the curved stem. The lower molding has the general form of the base of a pillar.
The dots of the prism B are on its exposed sides, and each oi such sides contains a certain detinite number thereof, the whole being intended to represent dice or dominos, While the moldings C D set ofi' or unite the prism with the plain portions of the stem A..
By the features set forth I produce a stem having a novel and distinguishing appearance.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a pipe-stem having a prism provided with dots on its exposed sides or faces, substantially as shown and described.
