THE Noam FETERS co. Pncn'au UNITED STATES PATENT CFFICE.
OVID COHEN, OF NEW HAVEN, CONNECTICUT.
DESIGN FOR A BOOK OR PAPER CUTTER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,496, dated May 14, 1901-.
Application filed March 21,1901. Serial No. 52,244. Term of patent 8% years.
To all whom, it may cancer-1o:
Be it known that I, OVID COHEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Book or Paper Cutter, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof,- and in which the single figure is a plan view showing one of two similar sides of a book and paper cutter embodying my design.
As shown by the drawing, the design embodies as its essential features a tongueshaped or long slender blade A, which is surmounted by the figure of a bufialo, (indicated at 13,) which latter constitutes an ornamental or fanciful head or handle for the blade.
Other minor features of the design are the configuration and ornamentation of the neck of the cutter, which, as will be seen, is reduced, having the lower globular or rounded part c, from which, as indicated at d, the head enlarges or flares out in a graceful manner, providing a supporting-base for the figure of the buifalo.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a book and paper cutter, substantially as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand, at New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, this l lth day of March, 1901.
OVID COHEN.
