Description

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
LAROY VINCENT, OF CUYLER, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A MEMBER OF STAPLE-EXTRACTING TOOLS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,903, dated December 27, 1898.
Application filed November 30, 1898. Serial No. 697,915. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, LAROY VINCENT, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cuyler, in the county of Cortland and State of New York, have invented and produced anew and original Design for the Member of a Staple- Extracting Tool, of which the following is a specification.
Myinvention relates to a new and novel design for the member of a staple-extracting tool; and the leading feature thereof consists in the peculiar configuration given to the jaw thereof, whereby it may be readily distinguished from other tools for a similar purpose now in common use.
In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a .perspective view of the member of a stapleextracting tool constructed in accordance with my design. Fig. 2 is a detail front View of the jaw.
In the said drawings the numeral 1 designates the handle of the tool, and 2 the curved jaw, formed with an extension 3 at one side. At the front end of the jaw there is formed a side extension 4, which is integral with the extension 3. The said jaw is also formed with a slot 5 at the front end.
From the above it will be seen that my design presents distinguishing differences from others now in use and also presents a neat and attractive appearance.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim is The design for the member of a staple-extracting tool, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in presence of two subscribing witnesses.
LAROY VINCENT.
