To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, PAUL Gem. NGETZEL, a citizen of the United States, residing at New Yorlgin the county of Nev. York'end State of New Yorlg have invented a certain new and useful Improvement in Trousers and Belt Fasteners, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.
The wearers of waist-belts on trousers orperience annoyance in the escape of the trousers at front from'the belt. The object of and to cretj-ii'in the belt and trousers in proper and sightly reletion one with the other.
The invention consists of a smell and ini conspicuous loop, arranged vertically in the I Waistband seam, above the'fiy, which in use is engaged with the tongue of the bel t-buclrle, and thereby holds the belt and trousers together and prevents escape of one from the other so long as the buckle is engaged with the loop. The belt may be freelyunbuckled and the loop ofl'ers no impediment to he ready buttoning and. unbuttoniug of the trousers.
In the accompanying drawings, illustrating the invention, in the tWo figures of which like parts are similarly designated, Figure 1 is a perspective view of )ortions of a pair of trousers, Without the be lt. Fig. 1-2 is a persyective Viewof a pair oi trousers with the belt and showing thehole-ond of the belt turned back, and illustrating the application of the invention. 7
The trousers 1, may be of usual cons truction, having a Waistband 2, and belt-loops 3.
waistband seam 5, above the fly Get the front of the trousers, so as to stand up fist. against the front of the trousers. This loop may be of any suitable materiel, such as the cloth of the trousers.
The belt 7 may be of usual construction,
and supplied with n metal buchlo 8 having it other to the discomfort and annoyance ol the wearer. With my invention, this objection is overcome, when the tongue of the buckle is engaged with the loop 4, as seen in Fig. 3. i'Vhen so engaged the bolt and its buckle are retained in place upon the trousers, and the trousers cunnot escape from the belt, or the llysag down. Consequently the lit and appearance of the trousers are perfectly 1nain-.
trained.
The engagement of the loop at and the buckle in nowiseinterferes with the fastening and unlnstening of the belt or the trousers.
' 1. Atrousorsantibolt fastener, comprising a vertically disposed loop arranged at the waistband sezun. above the fly and adapted to be engaged with the tongue of it belt buckle to support the front of the trousers and to hold the belt in place upon the trousers.
2. l."rousers ha ing smell icon it cloth extending upwsiilly lcngtl viso of the fly at A I t r I the waistband, combined with o. belt and its buckle, the loop and buckle tongue when en gigcd coopernting to retain the belt in place end to hold up the front orthe trousers.
in testimony whercot I have hereunto set my hand this twelfth day of h'lsrch, All 1907.
