ToaZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, ALPHoNsE BLoo, residing at 1 1 Avenue de la Porte-Neuve, and ARTHUR BLoo, residing at 29 Boulevard Royal, in the city and Grand Duchy of Luxemburg, Germany, subjects of the Grand Duke of Luxemburg, have invented new and useful Improvements in Gloves, of which the following is a specification.
Our invention relates to improvements in gloves.
Gloves are known the innerside or palm of which has firmly attachedto it a small pocket designed for the reception of mone railroad-tickets, admission-tickets, or the like. The glove formin the subject of our said invention differs om such gloves by the pocket being arranged transversely upon the glove. The inwardlg turned edge extending along the mouth of the pocket is fastened by sewing or otherwise to the glove, the pocket forming a flap which ma be turned over into the palm for securely c osing the pocket or ulpon the thumb for o ening the same, while t e bottom of the poo ret is fitted to be held on the glove by any'suitablefasteningfor example, by an expanding button. Thus after undoing the fastening the pocket must be turned through an angle of about one hundred and eighty degrees for getting at its contents. When the pocket is open, the coins can slide easily and surely into the palm, and when it is closed its contents'are entirely prevented from falling out. We prefer to asten the pocket to the glove along a seam between the thumb and forefinger. On thatside of the pocket which is turned outward when the latter is closed we ar range a strip of leather or other material fastened by two opposite edges to the lateral parts of the pockets, so as to leave slits or 7 openings designed for the insertion of railr-z;oad-tickets, admission-tickets, a small almanac, or the like. In this glove provision 5 is-thus made for separate receptacles on the inside for coins, checks, or the like and on the i I, I outside for railroad a. 1d admission tickets or v the like.
' In the accompanying drawingswe have 1 5o represented a glove embodying our improvements.
Figure 1 shows the inner side or palm of the glove, the pocket being in the closed pol sition. I11 2 is" a transverse section on the '1' 55 line A Rd ig. 1, showing the pocket closed, the open position being indicated by dotted Specificatioii of Letters Patent. Ap lieation filed 1104,1905. lines. Fi 3 is a longitudinal section on the line C D 0 Fig. 1-. i
On the inner side or palm a of the glove is fastened the small pocket, which forms a flap 6o w 1 consisting of the two sides I) and c, the ed e d at the mouth of this pocket being secure to the glove by a seam g, extending-from the thumb e to the forefinger f. In the-case of the trade as' seam lessthat is to say, such as have no seam along the sideit is expedient to attach the edge (1 to the seam already formed from the thumb to the forefin er. At the bottomfof, the pocket we provi e an expanding button. It or like fastening, which retains the pocket. when closed or turned to lie fiat'in the palm, as indicated in Fig. 1. Wheniitqe fasteningis undone, the ocket' may 'beijturned overj about the edge (i: as indicated by 'gdotted lines in Fi 2, for'allowin its con-tents to slide into t e palm or for ling the. ocket. Y
To the outer side I) of the pocliet is fastened a strip 11, of fabric, leather, or the'like,so as to leave slits or openings in proximity to the 80 mouth and bottom arts of the pocket for the i insertion of railroa -tiekets or the like. I In case the pocket the glove, as herein described with reference to a glove havin no seam along the side, the material of the g ove remains intact, and the pocket may also be readily severed Without causing damage to such glove. I
What we claim as our invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is 0 v 1. A glove having a pocket forming a flap and fastened with one of the edges of its: mouth to the alm of the love at one side byE v a seam extending longiturIinally of the glove, v said pocket bein turned over so as to be held 1 5 I I I flat across the pa m for closing its mouth, and i to be turned back through an angle of about E I one hundred and eighty degrees for opening its mouth. f 2
2. A glove having a pocket forming a flap {loo and fastened with one af the edges of its A f mouth tothe alm of the glove at one side by I a seam exten ing from the thumb to the forefinger, said pocket being turned over so as to j be laid fiat across the alm for closing its :05 mouth, and to be turned gle of about one hundred and eighty de reesr for opening-its mouth, and means for ho ding the bottom of said pocket to the glove when in the closed osition.
3. A glove aving a pocket forming a flap 1 f and fastened with one of the edges of its ack through an ani posite edges to the outer side of such pocket.
In testimony whereof We have signed our 1o names to this specification in the presence of two subscribing Witnesses.
