SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 791,422, dated May 30, 1905. Application filed October 24, 1904:. Serial No. 229,877-
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN HUTOHINSON, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Belleville, in the county of St. Clair and State of Illinois, have invented an Improved Holder for Brooms and Brushes, of which the following is a specification.
My invention is an improvement in that class of broom and brush holders which are provided with opposite jaws and a screwthreaded shank extending from the inner end of the jaws.
The details of construction of my device are as hereinafter described, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2'
a cross-section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1.
In constructing my improved broom and brush holder I employ a single piece of wire, one end of which is pointed and screw-threaded to adapt it for insertion in a wall or other vertical support. From such screw-threaded shank a'the Wire is extended forward and laterally and looped to form-the jaw a, from which the wire extends diagonally, as at a across to the opposite side, where it is again looped to form the jaw a the end of the wire being returned and coiled at aaround the 1 shank a. As shown best in Fig. 2, the diagonal portion a connects the two jaws a a and braces them more rigidly than would be practicable if the connecting portion extended horizontally, and the device is at the same time made more compact and symmetrical.
